Alright, so I'm trying to find out how much space I'll need for 5k BBs.I counted out 500, measured the amount of space they took up, and multiplied each measurement. So I now have these dimensions.

7.5 inches
25 inches
22.5 inches

from there I used the standard formula to get an object's volume and came up with 4218.75 in3. I did this so that I could adjust the measurement for each side and still have the same amount of space, but this is where i start having problems. if i go 7x25x23 i end up with 4025 in3 (a good amount of space that would let me have 5k without packing them in). But if i go with 8x25x22 i end up with 4400 in3 (which is a lot more than i need).

anyway, just so it's clear i hate math and really fail hard at most things involving it. so can I get some help? I'm unsure of the current mag's dimensions, but due to the mech i probably can't adjust the height (top to bottom) much, and space will limit depth (front to back), so that leaves me to compensate by adjusting the width (left to right side). (note: orientation is with the mag on the gun)

Also, this is just for the BBs, I have yet to measure the mech or figure out space for batteries.

7x25x23!?! A 6x6x6ish tub of Crossman BBs holds 5000. Even with the feeding mechanism and batteries, you'll never need 7x25x23 to hold 5000 BBs.

and this is how obviously my math skills fail... even with the simplest problems I get outlandish figures.

I think you should make it that big for the fact of holding 10k+ rounds.

I think it would be closer to 20k since that's probably double a 10k bucket.

Does the battery go in the mag like other supports?

Edit: just read that it does up top. So basically your going to need a separate container for the battery pack to go into inside the mag.

Yeah, I've got it figured out now. I'm pretty much just building the same one with a few adjustments as well as extra ammo space.

I am just wondering why? I never have a problem with ammo with my SAWs or my M60s. Even at Fulda Gap I have never really had an ammo problem and if I do run out I have enough on me to reload.

Because I plan to run this in a technical. it's the main reason i bought it, so double the ammo cap means half the number of reloads. It's a pain to load the battery and wires in, but its so much easier to load the ammo through the side.

Sorry for the late reply, but I have seen an excellent solution to this. Make an extension that doubles as a funnel. Basically extend the BB reservoir up and have the sides slope so that you have a large opening on top. This will mean you can hold more BBs and you can literrally dumb whole bags in with ease. Since this will be mounted you can leave to top open, or just make a flap.
