Hey guys, I have really been wanting to go shooting lately, and was wondering what shooting ranges you have been to (in upstate SC) and what your experience was. Any input greatly appreciated.

I have heard of Allen Arms, and they seem good. Have you been there?

Allen Arms is the best gun store in Greenville, but be prepared to dish out some money to shoot there.
Here is a pretty comprehensive list of public and commercial gun ranges in SC:

Oh, are their prices bad? How do they compare to other ranges?

Do they sell Echo1's? Can't be awesome unless they sell Echo1's real steel variations.

Yeah I have been to allen arms it is somewhat pricey but any shooting now-a-days is expensive no matter what. If you bring eye gear and ear phones you can save yourself some money. The ammo is what is pricey not the gun rental. Make sure you take a close look at the guns because some of them are really old and crap and jam. For instance I rented a CZ75 and it jammed every 10 shots. The targets are pretty cheap too. The only thing you will have to do is watch a 15 minute safety video and take a quiz on it after to shoot.

Wait, they make you pay for glasses and ear protection? If it was jamming I would make them give me another one! What other guns (primarily pistols) do they have?

Unless you have cash coming out of your ears, don't go to Allen Arms. To shop, it's a decent place, but to shoot, no.
One fun day at Allen Arms easily equals $200.
As far as rent guns go, here's a brief list:
M1911 variants
Beretta M9
Glock variants
Sig Sauer variants
Smith and Wesson variants
Desert Eagle .44 Mag
M1A SOCOM
M16 variants
.22 rifles
Thompson M1A1
MP5
ETC

Thing is, that's the only one near me. There's Greenville Gun Club but that's Members only....

Check the DNR ranges, they are all free and they have free targets just make sure you have someone who is of the right age with you if you are under 18 for rifles and 21 for pistols.
