The lower handguard is bakelite. So is the top, but it looks like they were fresh out of the "lite" in bakelite.

With the nearly non-existent 5.45 recoil it's not bad at all, but I'd hate it if I had any serious force coming back at me. Definitely getting a paracord wrap in the near future.

Love how this thing feels and looks...
Just not that in love with the DAO long trigger pull, I just realized how badly I jerk when squeezing the trigger in anticipation of the recoil.

What'd that cost you?

Also, this isnt a pic, but

Glock 17, Beretta 92fs, or CZ 75 for IDPA competition? Or another 9mm I haven't thought of? Several people have recommended Glocks to me, and I like them... Going to shoot all three on Friday. Glock is winning partly because it has a rail.
