type 96 sniper problems need help

Post by ghost » Sun Jan 24, 2010 5:20 pm

I have a type 96 sniper and i have a small problem. when i first start shooting my distance is about 20 feet to short, but the more you shoot the distance increases. After about 5 to 10 shoots it is at the right distance. Why dose it do that and can i fix it.

Is it cold, or does it have lube from cleaning the barrel, etc. that would leave excess?

Your piston o ring may not be holding a good seal either until it loosens up with some friction.  New o rings are cheap at the hardware store and I recommend changing them frequently.

If that is the case, sounds like a problem within the hop-up bucking to me.

Over oiling, and various kinds of oils cause hopups buckings to lose functionality until it is worn off by BBs or cleaned. How do you clean and lube your rifle? There is a right and wrong way...
