SOUTH CAROLINA NEEDS YOU!

Post by Dominum » Sun Jan 31, 2010 7:46 pm

[mod]*The following is a Blacktower Productions event hosted by Robin in coordination with the AOSC. An AOSC commander will be added shortly![/mod]

Greetings all,

Thanks to everyone for their patience... phew, the holidays are over and my visit to Japan is done. (More on that later  )

I want to apologize to everyone about the tardiness of this announcement. Much of my hesitation to publicize this game is that the Saluda field has been closed for a long time and we all like firm confirmations, right!!

But you all have waited long enough!!
On Saturday, May 1st.. let slips the dogs of war, and let the forces of South Carolina and our battle-brothers from NC meet on the field and decide a new year of combat, honor, and victors!

The North Carolinian's have their tradition of BOC run by Preacher, ours is the new tradition of... the Carolina Border War!! Let these two events mark the axis by which war is fought!

The noble and fine SC forces will be led by the eminent Panzermench... (uh oh!)

This will be a full day event with a night game... full of pyrotechnics, camp fires and camaraderie!

Dates, maps, plans, times, radio info, food plans, cabin sign ups and details soon to follow!

Mark your date! Load your rounds and get ready for the 2010 Carolina Border WAR!

So it begins!
~R

PS: We already have three sponsors and two full gun kits committed to the free raffle!

SC Planning thread: PM Steevols, Garrett, or Grimwolf if you are an SC squad wishing to be part of the planning process.

This will be awesome!
Any info on what the stuff being raffled will be? I also move that we disqualify Pohkerface from the raffle right now, he's won too much stuff already... :D

[mod]Since there has been some question about this, let me clarify:

The AOSC and its Representatives are in NO WAY cooperating with the SCAA concerning game hosting or anything else, though as a matter of course we will be fighting alongside them against NC in the Border War game. We are, however, cooperating with an independent production company called Blacktower Productions that hosts games in SC independent of both organizations and that has no desire to take sides at the present time. The AOSC is and always will be its own organization independent from and with entirely differing ideals than the SCAA. If you have any further questions concerning this, please call or PM me right away, as I'd like to quickly put an end to some quite unfounded rumors.[/mod]

matter of being able to accomidate the amount of players...the field itself may not be great...but being able to get a hot meal, camp...make doodee...

i stated this before, this gives SC 2 years to makea field to accomidate this game...IF this game makes it past this 2nd game.

SOUTH CAROLINA NEEDS YOU!

This flag was first flown over an island fort built by General William Moultrie near Charleston, South Carolina and reflects the desire by the American colonists for divinely inspired Liberty. The American forces defending the fort wore a silver crescent on their caps emblazoned with "Liberty or Death," and the Moultrie design was the first American flag flown in the Southern states.

The fort was built out of the materials at hand - palmetto logs and sand - and came under heavy British naval bombardment on June 28th, 1776. The flag was shot away in the withering fire, but the fort - and the spirit of the defenders - did not yield.

Men and women of South Carolina...
You have conquered and you will conquer still, because you are prepared for the tactics that decide the fate of battles. You are not unworthy of the men who entered the ranks of a Spartan phalanx, and who contended not in vain with the proud conquerors of the South. To this wonderful page in our country's history another more glorious still will be added.

To arms, then, all of you! all of you! And the oppressors and the mighty shall disappear like dust.

The South Carolina Ten Commandments:
1. You are the elite of the South Carolina Militia. For you, combat shall be fulfillment. You shall seek it out and train yourself to stand any test.
2. Cultivate true comradeship, for together with your comrades you will triumph or die.
3. Be shy of speech and incorruptible. Men act, women chatter; chatter will bring you to the grave.
4. Calm and caution, vigor and determination, valour and a fanatical offensive spirit will make you superior in attack.
5. In facing the foe, ammunition is the most precious thing. He who shoots uselessly, merely to reassure himself, is a man without guts. He is a weakling and does not deserve the title of South Carolina Militia.
6. Never surrender. Your honour lies in Victory or Death.
7. Only with good weapons can you have success. So look after them on the principle—First my weapons, then myself.
8. You must grasp the full meaning of an operation so that, should your leader fall by the way, you can carry it out with coolness and caution.
9. Fight chivalrously against an honest foe; armed irregulars deserve no quarter.
10. Keep your eyes wide open. Tune yourself to the top most pitch. Be nimble as a greyhound, as tough as leather, as hard as US steel and so you shall be the South Carolina warrior incarnate.

I want to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture... and kill them.
I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!
Shit, you shoot me in a dream, you better wake up and apologize.
