I think that top one is an airsoft pic....(look at their shooting posture) maybe im wrong but i dnt think a trained soldier would be magwell grippin

If you look at both the first and second picture, those soldiers aren't firing. It looks to me like they are using their optics as... optics.

in Afghanistan they are going to plate carriers...will probably depend on what theater you are training for.
