New vfc combat master problem

Post by jgattis » Wed Mar 10, 2010 10:31 pm

Having problems with mag that came with gun. It will skip some shots and feels a little loose in the gun. Fires fine if I hold in from the bottom.  What's going on here? Sorry for short post! I'm on the iPhone

The mag that came with my VFC sits loose in the magwell aswell, but I believe that's on purpose. It allows it to fall free if you hit the mag catch.

On the other hand, my mag feeds fine aswell. If you're at Trigger Tyme this weekend, you can compare mags and see if your feeds fine in MY rifle. It's possible you got a lemon, but You can try adding a little silicon oil to the mag. If that doesn't help, then you can shim the mag a little bit with electrical tape to avoid having to push up on it.

Most AR's have this problem. It just means that the mag doesn't fit the mag-well perfectly. The only way to completely solve the problem is to try different brands of mags until you find one that feeds correctly.

Adding some electrical tape to the back of the mag should help, though.
