Everyone split up when we captured a building so me and my brother sit in a building for about two hours in alpha spawn that was fun. Except it was like sitting in an oven. And i had filled my camelback with dawn.. Never doing that again. It can stay dirty for all i care!
I wondered where our recon team disappeared too. yah the dawn thing was pretty funny.

Oh, I forgot...

I think everybody who ordered patches picked them up yesterday. If you have already paid for patches and haven't received them yet, let me know via PMs, emails, phone calls, forum posts, pigeon courier, or whatever other means you can come up with.

It was off to a bad start switching teams, and with all the confusion time was waisted which led to us getting ambushed in the road, I ended up separated with Noodles and a Sniper ( forgot your name man ). We spawned and decided to cut our own paths where we encountered members of War and Revolution ( not surprising. We were taken out, went to Mile high and held it there till Bravo stopped attacking. We held the towers hard, plenty of shooting and I racked up mad kills. Silverado was fun, we cut hard into the woods to end up engaging members of War and Revolution ( seeing a pattern here? ) had some killer thick brush fighting, but we eventually fell.. fought some more, game was over. Can I get a refund?? jk... the heat just killed people. with all my pounds of junk on I was actually ok. I was covered in sweat and that kept me cool, but this time my small hydration pack didn't cut it at all..

oh yeah and I left my small lipo charger at the check in desk, arrgg...

Had a fun day. 2 of our guys went to mile high before us, and as soon as the rest of us started down the trail we walked into about 10 bravos.  I didn't expect to do as much CQB as I did, and got blasted by a 4 round burst in the arm from a "CQB" weapon  :P

The second part of the day was awesome.  When it was alpha's turn to attack I was able to make it into the tunnels under the 2 story building in Silverado.  When I came out the other side I was about to take out a few bravo around the building and run up the stairs... but time was called :'(

Well, for SOCOM's first official game.. I can say Wow...

I had fun, though I got way over heated and I nearly puked a couple of times trying to cool down some, I enjoyed myself.

For some reason Red fox never seemed all that hilly in the pics I've seen of the place, and I was ready for the heat.. or the Hills.. just not both I suppose.

It was nice to finally meet a good bunch of you guys I've always talked to. Ben thanks for the game, I know you can't control the heat, but I had fun reguardless.

99% of the Red Fox pics you ever see are from places like Silverado or Mile High. They are at least partially landscaped, and therefore fairly level.

Had a good time out there yesterday. Even though I don't know much at all about the field. Turn out was great, game was great, heat was not. But what did you expect? It is July in SC..... Props to Boogieman for gunnin down some of us. We were actually on our way back to the cars, thinking BRAVO was gone. Next thing you know a few of us get hit. Good job man. Only downfall of the game for me was how everyone left after lunch thus stopping the main game.

First off, I'm just going to announce how important getting the appropriate amount of sleep is. This is coming from someone who played the whole event yesterday without a wink of sleep the night before. :o

I remember during the first half, I popped a guy with a single round from my 1911 through two and a half flights of stairs in the main tower. Made me giggle a bit. :P :P
I gotta admit, things were pretty slow during the first half but the second half was pretty snazzy. I was disappointed that we only had two tanks out there though. The heat was killer which is probably the reason everything was so slow in the beginning. Temperatures like that can make a small hill seem like a mountain...
Our squad barely saw any of the woods, which is a pretty big flip up compared to the insane amount of exploring we did during Domino.

On the subject of Domino, We couldn't throw together a video for this one like we did for the Vietnam game. Between camera issues, slow combat, and the heat, it just wasn't happening. :'(

I undoubtebly believe a lot of people quit playing mainly due to heat exhaustion.

Yep, but you would think people should be little more tough... it is not really about what gun you have or even whether you know how to shoot... but are you ready for the challenge of weather, terrain, and "are you ready to explore"? That is why all-day game like this can be and was a big challenge... btw, it was nice to meet you Vesper, and many others as well...

Just to address 2 big things here:

Heat exhaustion is nothing to f**k with. You can die from overheating, it affects your vital organs, especially your brain if your body temperature is raised too high. (Fevers above 104 F that aren't cooled quickly usually result in death or brain damage after less than 4 hours).

Second, leaving because you're feeling ill isn't a sign of weakness or not being a little more tough. Many of us, including myself, aren't exactly in the best shape of our lives. I'd rather the entire field drop out early than have someone leave the field by helicopter (an Ambulance wouldn't make it to Red Fox).

Anyway, awesome day, I think I'll wait until September before the next big game for me though haha.

I was not trying to say that without regards to other people. I would rather have people leave than get sick and stuff. You pointed out important factors. I was just sharing my expectations... but it does not mean anything.
