Ok, so I went to Cane Creek, near Asheville, NC. The field is put on by Gman Chris of Airsoft Carolina. So let me begin.

Pro's
1. The field is completely undeveloped. No bunkers or structures. Complete woodland environment.Amazingly, there are a lot of great ambush spots, and lots of natural cover. This being said, Chris told me that construction is starting this week.
2. It is near Asheville, It AIN'T flat. Not as bad as PPN in Tennessee, but hills just the same. Be prepared for a long walk up hill, but it is worth it.
3.Food is provided at the field, for a fee of course. I had 3 BBQ sandwiches and a drink for $10.00. I thought that was more than fair. The BBQ was good and the sauce is homemade. He also sells hotdogs, beans and chips. Not bad. Nice to know you don't have to pack food.
4. Cost is only $10.00. Play today was from 11:00 to 7.:00. Very affordable.
5. No attitudes. Everyone was there to PLAY a GAME.
Con's
1. First briefing, rules were not clarified. This was changed at the 2nd briefing. All rules were made very clear. This made the rules in the first game a little confusing for some, but even with this, there were no Attitudes
2. Long walks up hill. Will be better prepared next game.
3. Lack of parking. Glad I had a 4 wheel drive.
4. Bio bbs only. The field owner rules, not Gman's. Does raise the cost a little. I will say I like the Bioval bbs that Airsoft Carolina has.
Overall, had a great time. Got to meet some more of the NC players. All I met were very friendly and great to play with. Never had a problem with hit calling, and there were about 10-12 kids under 15 that were there. They all called their hits. Enjoyed the field. Look forward to seeing the bunkers added, and an actual OP being put on there. Being from the upstate, it is not a bad drive for me. Only took about 45 minutes to get there. I would recommend trying the field at least once.

I love the Corps for those intangible possessions that cannot be issued: pride, honor, integrity, and being able to carry on the traditions for generations of warriors past. [Cpl. Jeff Sornig, USMC; in Navy Times, November 1994]

Re: Cane Creek
Might have to make a roadtrip with you soon, Geno. Sounds like a great field, and a great field in the making.
