Upgrading KWA SR12

OKay....do they shoot now?  and how were they fixed if they do shoot now?

The only problem was the bucking/nub. They work fine after replacing those parts.

What bucking and nub were they replaced with is what ive been trying to find out....kwa....or other?

One has a KWA G1 bucking, the other has a Madbull silicone bucking/nub.

Okay ...i was just wondering about that...  I have also talked with other guys that had problems with the 2gx buckings and quite a few that loves em.....If ya can't tell already i'm a kwa whore...lol... I love them...

I own a 2010 KWA m4a1 and I have a small problem with the hop-up. At first it will fire like crap, but after the bucking goes through a "warming up" proccess it shoots just fine.

Do you use silicone oil to clean your barrel?

I have before. But this is a problem that I've had since i got the gun, and the problem still remained after I cleaned the barrel. I met someone at Op24II who had the same problem.

Not sure what that  could be .... unless there is some silicone oil on the bucking and once it is cleaned off with a few bb's then it shoot's fine or something like like....huh....not really sure?

But you are saying  it does shoot fine after a few shot's?

I see that your kwa m4 shoots around 340?    Did you change the spring?

Well, after reading this whole thread i have to comment considering i have had a couple kwa's. Not to mention I been running a DMR for nearly a year and a half. Heres what I have experienced.

-Had a 1st Gen Kwa stock m130 spring. 405 fps.
-Swapped spring to a m140. 450 fps. Ran flawlessly for over 50,000 rounds/ 1 year or so
until the front of the gearbox cracked where the piston is. at that time my 1st gen hop-up fell apart.
-Bought a new KWA 2nd gen gearbox, 2g hop-up,..new gearboxes are much thicker and re-enforced.
-Put a m150 in new 2nd gen gb. 475fps. New 2g hop-up, has about 20k round through it nicely.
- 2nd gen hop-up is wearing down already. but overall everything is smooth.

Overall, ....MHO: the 1st gen box was awesome and really took a pounding before breaking. The 2nd gen box is no joke and can easily take a m150 or higher easily but im already at 475 w/ a m150 so unless u have an extra $130 to risk breaking the gb i dont see the need to go much higher...maybe a 160 for an even 500fps... The 2nd gen bucking is decent but seems to be too thin for its own good. Im looking to change. Other than that the kwa turned out to be a perfect dmr platform.

If you're only getting 475 with a 150, your compression (or something along those lines) isn't what it should be. Heck, a 160 should put you somewhere in the neighborhood of 550!

No, I've been compressing the m120 for quite a while. And it had the bucking problem before I sprayed oil in the barrel.

Not true. my compression is fine. just checked not too long ago when re-built... stays constant and consistant. this spring has shot from other kwa mechboxes and shot EXACTLY the same fps. In every gun the springs total fps varies, but seems to stay identical with same model guns with the exception of differnt barrels. Our team mechanic is unmatched and can verify this. We have a lot of experience with kwa's on w.a.r.
