Folding stocks are excellent for all the fast CQB action that sniparz get during an average game, silly head.

Aside from the brilliant revelation of undeniable truth Steevo just shared, a folding stock is really only good if you're planning on carrying the rifle on your back a lot.  The more compact you can make it, the less chance it has to get caught or snagged on something while it's on your back; beyond that, folding stocks are popular with airborne units (not necessarily just US ones) so if you wanted to go for that look I guess you could do that.

Honestly though, for the extra money and hassle, I doubt you'll get much more use out of a side folder.

As you found out, I like being unique. I also think that a folding stock could come in handy while running, climbing, and such. I have primarily used long rifles such as a G3a3, vsr10, and a m24 style sniper rifle and they are very annoying while trying to move through bushes and climb trees, yes I snipe from trees sometimes...and they don't work to well with slings in my opinion. So I just think a folding stock would be sort of useful in situations.

Nooo, no one ever shoots something from a tree! thats impossible!

And i kinda agree with you on that, but you also need to think about when you shoot a sniper, of all guns, you need the stock to hold still and firm against your shoulder so you dont accidentally pull your shot. Idk if that applies for airsoft, but i like to think it does.

I would suggest the hydro- dipping process if you want a very nice paint job...or some stencils and rattle cans do just fine....i myself prefer multicam.....check this link out

Will do. I will probably end up going with basically multicam colors but in a water pattern.

Anyone know where I can puck up cheap camo rags for guns? I saw one site with them but they were sold out.

AirsoftGI has a pretty unique sniper rifle on their daily shockers special right now.

You might be able to put a folding stock on there, too.

Wow, three pages and still no real answer for the original Q? :o

Chippy, your hunch was correct. There are two main categories of bolt action rifles, those with internals based off of a VSR10, denoted as PSS10 internals; and those based off of L96 internals, denoted as APS2 internals.

I dont know if this is the place to ask, but i thought i might as well

To go along with his hackjob, i was considering doing two things. One is create a body for an airsoft gun somehow and two take the trigger assembly, bolt, barrel of another (l96 probably) and put it into this body.

The questions are what can i make the body out of and how? and how can i put the gun into the body the way i want it to?

This is the basic image im going off of (Tau Pulse Rifle)

Obliviously i need to take the stock and pull it back a little, and leave space for a bolt on the right side. Railing would go where the strange scope is and prob some along the bottom as well.

Dom- I was just wandering when someone was going to answer :D
Thanks by the way, that is extremely helpful at the moment.

Felix- definitely go for this project. Although, I'm getting the feeling that our team is going to turn into a group of backyard engineers. Swamp with his claymores, me with my grenade/shotgun made out of a cocking gun, and you with your...well...watchamacallit...

I may turn this into my senior project. After talking to my tech teacher, i will have to create each peice of my gun in Inventor (like down to ever screw) and THEN create the body to go around it. Dont expect to see this any time soon.

Unless you have access to a quality CNC rig, prototyping equipment, and so on you might be aiming a little bit high there.
