Best 6.01 tbb for the price?
Re: Best 6.01 tbb for the price?
why the firefly hard type then? I installed one on my sr12 for a while and it is very thick and i had compression issue's with that bucking on mine....some guys say they havent...also are you cleaning your barrel with silicon oil?..... If you want REAL info on this thats not hearsay as dom would say..Go to airsoft retreat and look for marine srgt. ... or SVT. cobra or KWAUSA and look for allizard or
cartmeister....they have helped with thousands of lengendary builds and have more than just a couple years of so called expierence!

Yup, everything is stock except for the barel.Smoke wrote:
awesome....there's another barrel for the list....did he use the stock bucking as well?
isn't that the masamune barrel by airsoft gi? And would you happen to know the machining tolerance's on that barrel?

I thought it was 400=hard? And I guess KWAUSA would have more firsthand experience on KWA's than Dom. I guess I'll ask there. I basically just want the BEST POSSIBLE range and accuracy on my m4.Smoke wrote: why the firefly hard type then? Look through the downgrade and mod. section on kwa forums and you can find out most of your question's. Only trust the words from kwa's staff member's...some of the other guy's dont know aeg's to well. If their is anything your still not sure about just send me a pm...been around kwa's a while now...other than systema it's all i will ever buy.
And im still confused on why people are having 2gx bucking issue's....ive put them on several differnt aeg's beside's the kwa's and they give me a tad bit extra range and has shot straighter than anything else iv'e compared them too....I guess ive been lucky with them so far?

Re: Best 6.01 tbb for the price?
Thanks for your help Smoke, +1.
As for my gun, I've decided to get an EDGI 395mm 6.01 tbb, a PolarStar Concave Spacer, and an M130 spring.
Now if only I can find this barrel in stock.....

If you are going it use the stock kWA 2GX bucking the SCS nub will just cause decreased accuracy as the 2GX bucking already has the effective parts of the SCS. Either go with the Stock hop up parts or go with a Systema bucking and SCS combo, but the Systema bucking a slightly too thick to fit comfortably into the KWA hop up unit.

There's nothing wrong with a tight fit for a bucking, in fact that's a good thing. Unless you can not fit it at all in a hopup chamber, which I have never seen in my so-called experience (you know, that actual hands on practical experience that can only be gained by working on scores upon scores of AEGs by nearly every manufacturer with nearly every manufacturer's parts, not just reading a bunch of employees posts for one manufacturer) then that just means a tighter seal. Yes, certain barrels with certain thicker buckings and/or smaller chambers may require the proper application of silicon oil and some careful installation, but it can be done.

Re: Best 6.01 tbb for the price?
Your very welcome...Ill keep checking a few of my main websites for the barrel to come back in stock .I am also looking for them for a project of my own....Just remember a tightbore and m130 could put you over the new limit for 2011..I'm not 100 percent sure what fps you will get but i bet it will be over 450 and close to 500 fps depending on what brand spring you buy....I think you would be just fine running the stock bucking.. maybe buy a new one when you get your barrel...And Jeremy is right...a concave spacer and 2gx bucking = no good..it pushes the fins inside together instead of apart like they should be....I think when you are done you will end up with an amazing aeg though...Stomper87 wrote: Thanks for your help Smoke, +1.

He won't be anywhere near 500 FPS with an M130.

I'll take your word for it....since you really seem to know the kwa's like the back of your hand...lolDominum wrote: He won't be anywhere near 500 FPS with an M130.
Id bet it settles to about 470 give or take 5 fps
Guarder m130= aprox. 450 fps with edgi 6.01 tightbore = aprox. 20 to 30 fps.= 470-480
which in my book is close to 500 fps

Re: Best 6.01 tbb for the price?
I have never denied your experience, Dom. I have never said I had more or better experience. I don't live in a central area for most of the airsofters in SC to get to work on their guns. But as we grow in numbers in the MB area I'm sure I will gain more knowledge and experience. I apologize for what I had written here earlier, as it wasn't that appropriate and was in response to, what seemed to me, a personal attack on my limited tech experience.Dominum wrote: There's nothing wrong with a tight fit for a bucking, in fact that's a good thing. But here is what I am talking about straight from KWA:
Allizard from KWA wrote:We haven't tested with PDI barrel.
The truth is this... The KWA hop-up have a slightly smaller inner diameter like .05mm compare to generic hop-up diameter. This minor difference makes installing aftermarket barrels+aftermarket bucking difficult because of various thickness and too much combination. Most of the time, if you use keep the KWA bucking, the after market barrel will fit.
(except Magbul, they are just too thick) IF you use other bucking will probably too tight with the combination.
Most compatible aftermarket bucking+barrel combination is FireFly + KM Head barrel.
EDGI barrels. There are actually two types.
1. EDGI barrel with K cut. - This is the EDGI barrel and with a smaller outer diameter to fit after market bucking like Systema etc.
2. EDGI barrel no K cut - This is the standard barrel outer diameter and use this with our stock 2G bucking.
*** To those people wonder why our hop-up inner diameter is smaller. BETTER AIRSEAL so you don't need Teflon tape to warp around it like other hop-up unit. ***

Re: Best 6.01 tbb for the price?
Not sure Smoke. I have 2 KWA's, and SR5 and SR10 and had to replace the buckings on both of them. THe hop up was just hot working at all. I could turn it up all the way and my bb's would still go down and never take off up into the air. Replaced the bucking on each of them and they shoot like champs now.Smoke wrote: Look through the downgrade and mod. section on kwa forums and you can find out most of your question's. Re: Best 6.01 tbb for the price?
Smoke, I'm glad you have had so much luck with them. It could just be me. I have terrible luck with guns, even when bought new. Luckily Vanquish hooked me up and fixed any problems I have had. I am the first to admit that I don't know anything about the internal workings of the guns. All I know is that after the V1 KWA was put in the SR 10 and after the Madbull bucking was put in the SR5 they both shoot perfectly now. I just wish I knew why it always happens to me. You are always welcome to state your opinion on here.Smoke wrote: I understand you have had problems with your sr5 and sr10...I guess the reason i like them so much is tha range my sr5 had even before the pdi tightbore 150 feet and up ain't bad for astock cqb and that i shot the sr12, sr5,m4a1,andm4s-system with 2gx buckings and the have been excellent in my opinion.. and even when i put them on other brands from jg to tokyo marui...I liked them much better..and again this is just my opinion... But i have figured out there is no use in trying to help guy's out the aosc cause people will just try to bash you on everything you say...you can't even state an OPINION on here
