G&G Stock Cylinder Heads

Post by Star_folder » Thu Dec 30, 2010 12:37 pm

How strong are they? I recently tried putting in a metal V6 cylinder head in my G2010 and it turns out that the airport is 1-2mm too high. I'm wanting to turn it into a sub 500fps DMR and am wondering how the cylinder head would stand up to such a spring? Sorbo will be added to adjust for AoE, but would it be enough to protect the cylinder head?

I thought it was supposed to use a V6 cylinder head? If you add sorbothane, be careful because if you add too much is can cause problems with the piston teeth. You have a decent chance of the stock one holding up, but I'd be safe and install a metal one.

I thought it was a V6 too, other wise I wouldn't have spent the money for the metal one.

And yeah, I've got it sorboed up and it's corrected the AoE very nicely, so we're all good. I just hope someone makes a metal cylinder head for it sometime soon.

Where is the nozzle part of the head? Is it dead center of the whole cylinder head?

No, the bottom edge of the air nozzle is about 1-2mm below the bottom edge of the V6 nozzle, not in the center of the head.

Odd, I can't seem to find a compatibility list that includes the cylinder head. Could you post pics of the stock one?

Possibly. I'll be packing for college tonight, but If I find the time, I'll take some pictures for you.
