ok guys, got a few hop up questions
1. my m4 consistantly pulls towards the right. cleaned the barrel, so the only other thing i can think of is hte hopup. i havent pulled it apart in a while. is it possible the nub is slightly turned and thats what is causing the rounds to pull right?
2. whats the big advantage to a one piece metal hop up? im considering installing one, but dont really knwo what the benefits would be.
3. Would using the concave shaped nub that came with my madbull buckings with other buckings (G&G, element, etc) cause any unforseen problems, or wil it function just fine?

1. There are a lot of reasons that your BB's could be curving to the right, but most likely your nub is crooked. My guess would be that your barrel isn't sitting correctly in the chamber and is pushing the nub to one side. Another option may be that your barrel is damaged.
2. As far as I know, other than simplicity when you're installing it, the only advantage to a one-piece hop up is better compression. Air can't leak out of the unit when you fire like it can between the two halves of the unit you have now.

Re: mutlple hop up questions
The advantages of a one piece metal hopup are debatable. When it comes down to it, a good air seal is what matters. My VFC hopup unit is clear acrylic, not metal. Even so, it has very consistent groupings and I never get any random fliers/misfeeds.
I'm using a concave spacer nub in my VFC with the stock bucking. I wouldn't anticipate any problems using the Madbull concave bucking, but the only way to really know for sure is to try it. Fortunately it takes all of 5 minutes to swap a nub and/or bucking, so you won't be burning up an entire evening working this out.

Re: mutlple hop up questions
1. It could be your nub or your bucking. If it looks like your bucking is lumped up on one side of your barrel, or if you push your hop up arm down and see that it is leaning to one side or the other it would be your problem. Either your barrel isn't situated properly, your nub or bucking aren't on properly, It could be that it wore down in a strange fashion.Villid wrote: ok guys, got a few hop up questions

2. A one piece hop up will have better compression, and metal ones generally have higher tolerances, and are slightly more accurate.
3. The x-nub that comes with the madbull buckings should work with any normal bucking and should help.

Re: mutlple hop up questions
Nubs only exert vertical pressure, your bucking is canted to the right. Remove the barrel and hopup assembly, turn the hopup all the way up and look through the barrel (have it back-lit so you can see the bucking pushing down) and simply rotate the barrel slowly so that it is straight.

1. Take your hop-up chamber and inner barrel out of the gun, dial in the hop-up enough that you can clearly see where the nub is pressing down on the bucking, then gently try to turn your inner barrel around until the nub isn't pushing down on the bucking in a crooked manner.Villid wrote: ok guys, got a few hop up questions

2. As far as I'm concerned, hop-up chambers and their quality of functionality is decided by the air compression. My Combat Machine plastic hop-up chamber worked just as good as my Systema metal hop-up chamber. I guess the only advantage is that metal hop-up chambers are harder to break...
3. I've used concave nubs with a G&G bucking, Systema bucking, SRC bucking and Tokyo Marui bucking, and I have not experienced any problems. I doubt there will be any problems with other buckings, unless they are specially designed to go with a certain type of nubs (which is rare).
