Painting plastic to look like wood
Painting plastic to look like wood
As the title says is there an easy way to paint platic to look semi-realisticly like wood? It would need to be durable too. Thanks guys.
Re: Painting plastic to look like wood
I am no skilled airsoft gun painter by any means, but in my years of airsofting I have never once seen a wood pattern painted on something.

The M14 wasn't invented until after WWIIcripto wrote:Well I want my m14 to have the old WWII look to it so...thats the reason.
Re: Painting plastic to look like wood
you could buy a kit for it? otherwise the only way to give a wood look to it is to somehow stencil and some craaazy pain combinations

Yeah, I'm not sure there's a wood kit. I was thinking of making a wood stock but that would be a TON of work...Felix wrote:you could buy a kit for it? otherwise the only way to give a wood look to it is to somehow stencil and some craaazy pain combinations

Re: Painting plastic to look like wood
i know its a G&G felix. m14 idk which model or whatever though.
psht if you had the time i bet you could find some mock wood wallpaper that you could lay on it... mess around with some spray painting to darken it/make it look older... then coat it in polyurethane... it would be a experimental process for sure though

Yeah thats an idea. You think the wall paper would be durable enough? You think it would stick to the plastic?
Re: Painting plastic to look like wood
Its not the shorty barrel, its the long one. Like Skywalker said, G&G.Felix wrote:whats the gun model and company?
Re: Painting plastic to look like wood
Would it be possible to buy a real m14 stock and just add the airsoft GB and such to it? http://cgi.ebay.com/M1A-walnut-stock-su ... 1e62f8c475 compared to my G&G stock its almost identical. Please tell me if this would be illegal in any way.haha....but seriously

There are wood kits for the airsoft m14. You just have to look around. I do believe www.ehobbyasia.com has them.

Re: Painting plastic to look like wood
if you used some good glue and coated it a couple times with polyurethane, yeah.
using a real wood stock wouldn't be illegal... but you have to consider GB and battery space

Re: Painting plastic to look like wood
How hard do you think it would be to hollow out the stock and such?
