Re: Do you live in the Greenville/Spartanburg Area
I know I'm just another FNG here on the forums, but would that be taken into consideration? Single shot only indoors? I think alot of people would be made happy if it was changed to this. Check out the CQBCity vids on Youtube, it works well there.

Re: Do you live in the Greenville/Spartanburg Area
No one is saying you cant do single shot.
Those fine tuned rules are more along the lines of invite only MilSim games.

I know I can do single shot as personal preference, but I was more considering it as a safety/practicality rule across the board. I can name specific instances at Wellford where the fully auto indoors has gotten VERY stupid. Some people don't do well in that environment, so they panic and become unsafe. If you're inside any structure/building, semi only. Not trying to take away high caps or anything, and certainly not trying to impose milsim restrictions. Anyways, that's my 2 cents.

I am in Clemson. I would definitely play more at Welford, and nothing would hold me back. I am apart of Grave.

Your gun was under 340fps, and you were wearing full seal goggles and FFP, correct? Can you explain to me how this would be unsafe?marleynrs8 wrote:I know I can do single shot as personal preference, but I was more considering it as a safety/practicality rule across the board. marley.. 1, There is supposed to be no blind firing, so if people are blindly shooting around corners on full auto and hitting their teammates, then they are playing recklessly. 2, you can't ask people to not play outdoors. It has a great outdoor area too, including the woods. 3, I don't think anyone who is into indoor airsoft CQB is going to have a strong interest in semi auto. Precision is not part of their gameplan. Their gameplan is loud, fast, in-your-face firefights.
I personally am fine with 400fps CQB, obviously wear full facemask, then just go at it. A BB stuck in your skin really isn't the end of the world, as long as its not your face or your hands. If you just wear long sleeves, its not an issue.

Who would be made happy by this? Not me, or anyone I know. There is no reason to do this that I can see.marleynrs8 wrote:I know I'm just another FNG here on the forums, but would that be taken into consideration? Single shot only indoors? How would that be more practical? You could argue it would be more safe; in the same sense you could argue setting the limit to 200FPS would be more safe. It doesn't mean it is needed. If people panic and becomce unsafe at CQB games, then they shouldn't be at CQB games. What does tha have to do with hicaps? Nothing. How is that more MilSim? It isn't in any way.marleynrs8 wrote:I know I can do single shot as personal preference, but I was more considering it as a safety/practicality rule across the board. It's not the end of the world, but I don't want to have to choose between coming away from every CQB game covered in blood or wearing tons of heat-stroke-inducing padding all over myself and STILL coming away with bloody open wounds in many places. Have you ever played CQB at 400 FPS? I know several people who have and they agree with me. No need to make things more dangerous either. In airsoft we do shoot eachother and get shot, but that doesn't mean we are into S&M.Skywalker wrote:I personally am fine with 400fps CQB, obviously wear full facemask, then just go at it. Re: Do you live in the Greenville/Spartanburg Area
Didn't mean to create any controversy or point fingers at anyone, just making a suggestion and I appreciate the input/feedback(too many to quote, and I'm spastic with that anyways).
It seems obvious that a change to semi-auto only indoors would not be welcomed or wanted by the majority of AOSC players. That's fine, especially since the under-300fps rule is very safe. For me it's more of a gameplay thing.
I didn't explain my comment about the outdoors/indoors very well. I was just saying that when I go to Fort Prince, I want to hone in my CQB skills, the same as I want to hone in my field skills at Valley of Doom at Redfox. I've just noticed that alot of players are happy with hanging outside by the tires and woods rather than practice CQB. Whatever makes people happy, I guess. Not my place to tell people how/where they can play at a specific field. Dominum, the hicap comment was in response to canttype's comment at the top of the page.

In a lot of cases, that is because they are meeting a heavy resistance. At this one game, I ended up staying outdoor 90% of the time because my fire team was completely pinned down.marleynrs8 wrote:I've just noticed that alot of players are happy with hanging outside by the tires and woods rather than practice CQB.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But just remember FPTC is great for pistol matches where most people play single fire and/or rolling with a crew to maximize your security.marleynrs8 wrote:Didn't mean to create any controversy or point fingers at anyone, just making a suggestion and I appreciate the input/feedback(too many to quote, and I'm spastic with that anyways).

Re: Do you live in the Greenville/Spartanburg Area
marleynrs, I agree with your last point about play being stuck outside often. The game I am hosting remedies that by making outside play almost nonexistent, and is specifically designed to hone CQB skills for teams and individuals in a realistic scenario.

And I appreciate that very much! I'll see you there. It will be interesting to see what tricks the insurgents have up their sleeves.
