California law to make airsoft guns a bright neon letter

I don't know if yall realize how serious this is, but this bill just passed 21-16. We all need to call and write letters to stop this thing from passing in the assembly.

The thing is, though there is gun paint and crap, this idea could spread to other states and hurt airsoft as a sport. I know non residents wont affect much, but we cant do NOTHING.

If you have seen the video of the guy from Echo 1 calling the senators, almost every single senate aid but one asks for the zip code or city he lived in. If you cannot vote for them, your opinion makes no difference to them.

Thing is guys, it will have a domino effect. It will give other states ideas. It will be LESS safe because Airsoft guns are not toys, but when brightly colored they look like toys. Parents will buy them for kids and kids will play around with them. If an airsoft gun looks like a real gun people will take it more seriously. This bill is not just bad for CA, but for the sport as a whole.

Romba, we aren't saying this isn't severe! We're saying there is absolutely nothing you can do about it if you don't live in California. This is a FACT. This is also not the first time a state has tried to do something like this.

All we can do is wait it out and hope for the best. Alternatively you could move to California in the next week or two and then send in a letter/phone call.

21 to 16? That is not the full assembly, it must have been some kind of committee. That doesn't make it law yet.

It passed in the "senate" it iwill be voted on by the assembly soon.

You are right, that was the full Senate. Narrow margin, watch the Gen. Assy. shoot it down. Did the Governator say whether or not he would sign it into law yet? Because that is nowhere close to a veto-proof vote and he could very well not sign it.
