they get the multicam in Afganistan, here in the states they still use UCP(ACU). and grunt is an infantry man. those aren't the issue boots, but it was the best photo I could find. but yes it is too expensive for everyone to switch to MultiCam, so they only use it in Afganistan. 3 of my family are in the army two are infantry, my uncle(who is currently deployed), is issued with everything in that picture except the boots.

Those look like Altama or Danner Mountain Hikers, which a lot of soldiers actually do wear in country. A *lot* of guys going to Afghanistan are being issued MC now aswell; I see them going through Ft. Jackson every day.

Well I can tell you that hiking boots like that arent allowed by the military, and most of the guys you see with multicam probably bought it bc ACU's are still whats being issued. I recently talked to my cousin who is deployed right now and he was saying most guys still wear acu because it is cheaper and they actually blend well once they are worn in.

I talk to infantry every day who are getting deployed to Afghanistan. A *lot* of guys are getting issued MC from forts other than Jackson.

I guess it just depends on what unit your in, the army likes to be confusing and complicated.

A buddy in my unit just got back a month ago from Afghanistan and he had acus but another guy got back last year and had multicam it's just the luck of the draw really personally I'd rather have better equipment and stick with acus than them spend the money on MC.

While ACU's are actually decent for the terrain in Afghanistan they are virtually useless anywhere else worn in or not.

Well I am not just some airsofter. I come from a military background and am in the U.S. Army and know the standard for military footwear.

***I cleaned up these past two pages for the following reasons:

-Language
-Though some people made legitimate statements of their beliefs, concerns, and/or facts the whole thing amounted to a grand pissing match
-Way off topic

I did not clean it up to hide anything for anyone on either side, if you think these posts contained anything pertinent that you want to reference, I will gladly send you the deleted posts. Anything that needs to be continued should be done so in PMs.

To clarify on the slanderous accusations against the leadership of the AOSC:
We do not now, nor have we ever, under any conditions, allowed a Representative (even an office holding one) to remain in their position without regularly and repeatedly kicking puppies.

Now, please kindly return to your footwear pissing contest.***

That's funny because my pictures got deleted and they were STRICTLY on topic.

ex) A picture of a sniper and a spotter, and a couple pictures of U.S. Navy SQT

Again, Special Forces are allowed much more leeway on what they wear as uniforms. Regular army aren't allowed to grow beards either, but you can find all of the above growing beards too. Special Forces aren't the regular army/navy. ;)
