Well L96 Build! Updated!

Post by Avenger » Mon Aug 22, 2011 7:30 am

I'm pretty new, so I know nothing about upgrades. What are some cheap(er) upgrades to do to a Well L96 to increase range and accuracy?

EDIT: I'm going to build this L96, I want it top of the line. So, Steevo, Kory, and the various other techs and snipers, What should I do first?

I don't want to spend over $125 on each peice, but I'll do what I have to.

As with most guns, one of the cheapest and easiest ways to quickly increase range and accuracy is to upgrade the hop up. The flat hop is about the best mod so far that I know of, but kory has stopped doing it because of college (although stephen is working it out so he can do it) other than that making sure you have proper compression can also help get fps and range (assuming your gun has some form of compression issue).

Well, I myself am waiting for steevo to perfect his mod, at which point I plan to have him do it for my m16 as well as my brother's m4. If you can handle the wait, then I could take him your barrel/hop up unit at the same time and you'll just have to pay his little fee. each mod takes like 15 minutes at most from what I hear, so it would be no problem for me to pull your barrel one day and put it back in on the next.

That would be fine, but I can pull the barrel unit myself. I may give it to him at the next game, I don't know.

Uh, my dad can pull the barrel on the L96. I was thinking of my M4.

It will probably be a while till I get something marketable with the flat hop. I'm trying to come up with my own nub design similar to the Firefly hopup buffers, so there is a good bit of R&D involved.

I have some upgrades that would work in it as well.... I have a pdi tightbore and a pdi hop up chamber and a piston, spring, and spring guide that would all be compatible..... ive used these in a simalar rifle and it was around 600 fps with a .20

Be warned about your upgrades, it will run into some major cash eventually. Crazy spent well over 500 in parts on his last upgrade spurt and that didn't include his barrel and several other parts. If you still want to turn yours into a monster stick with LAYLAX and PDI brands. One of the first things you should consider is replacing that plastic trigger box with a zero.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Is this worth anything? http://www.airrattle.com/Metal_Trigger_ ... wrc134.htm

And what about this kit: http://www.airrattle.com/UTG_Upgrade_Ki ... %20kit.htm

Airattle isn't where I would usually look for upgrades, but they do have great prices.

A well 96 isn't really putting money into... it will only go so far. Better off waiting til you get a higher end rifle to upgrade

Actually, I don't believe you. I've heard too many people say that it was a great rifle for upgrading. From all I've heard, by the time your done upgrading the only thing made by the manufacterer left on ANY sniper rifle is the body.
