Oh, yrah.
WHAT ARE THE RUSKIES DOING WITH AN AMERICAN GUN!!!
Like the M249 SAW for example, I believe that was developed in Switzerland, but don't quote me on that one.
FN Minimi is Belgian. The M249 SAW is made in Columbia, SC.
Notice I said developed not made. The US bought the rights to it after it was developed.

THe SAW was derived from the Minimi, and I believe that it is a different gun. It's like a JG and a TM.
I do not always accidentally, but when I do, I accidentally the whole thing.

Huh ??? SAW stands for Squad Automatic Weapon. It's not the actually name of a weapon.

Fixed..no point in buying one, anyway. There are numerous high quality AR manufacturers in the US. Olympic Arms not being one of them. ???
I've never had any problems with my dad's Oly arms A2, its my favorite gun my dad owns except for the Mauser 1909

OA's are near the low end of AR15 manufacturers. Some people get solid rifles (i.e. your dad, apparently), but a rather overwhelming number of buyers get crappy rifles filled with problems like crappy trigger groups, out of spec receivers, horrible jamming issues, and so on. For the price of an Olympic Arms AR15 you could easily pick up a CMMG bargain bin rifle and have change to spare.

I'm not insulting your dad, but Oly Arms *does* suck. Just google "Olympic Arms quality" or something like that. For every one person who says "Yep, it's great!" you'll have a dozen going on and on about issues with the rifles.

Ok, nobody had ever explained why it sucks to me, i dont believe the gun has ever jammed, is there a diffference in quality between the new ones and the older ones before the assault weapons ban?

Not really, they tend to suck regardless of age. Your dad must have received one of the rare rifles that isn't a steaming pile of crap.

It's like some of the old chiclones. I few people got lucky and have old crap models that are still shooting well to this day. Luck.

Post up the technical specs on the Olympic AR-15 and I will tell you why it sucks compared to other brands.
