Night Tactics
Re: Night Tactics
I have a specially made foam suit that stifles all noise made by my body and equipment.
Re: Night Tactics
If you do have to look at light for any reason, remember to shut one eye.

Re: Night Tactics
Green and red lights are way easier on dialated pupils than white light is, and it takes half the time for them to adjust back to your night vision after shutting a red/green light off than a white light. Red/green light still gives enough to read a map and various other things by. I have red/green flip covers on all my lights, even my weapon mounted ones. Indispensable for night play.
Re: Night Tactics
you can also use one of those hunting trail cameras that make this enormous flash when something is detected in the area in frone of it. ghillie helps too. as do midcaps.

Re: Night Tactics
Ghillies do not help at night. Why do you say they do? Have you worn a ghillie throughout a night game before? Midcaps only help if you plan on running full sprint at night and somehow think people won't notice unless you also have a jingle.
I don't know why people always act like hicaps are so loud. They're only loud if you don't know how to move quietly.

Re: Night Tactics
fyi, i'm a hicap fan. afer all, you can't imitate a mexican mariacha band with midcaps. it's mainly your gear and the sound of your footsteps that make the most noise. ghillie (the leafy kind) does help at night. i have worn them at a buddy of mine's night game with 30ish people. i took a base with 12 people in it alone. i just sat in the brush and waited. i then went all ninja and shot them all. it works good at night. a guy stepped on me. literally. on my freakin back. ghillie works.

Re: Night Tactics
A ghillie could technically work, but you cant move, period. Just the leaves on the ghillie rustling would make enough noise.
And highcaps can be very quiet even in a full sprint. I do it all the time, but its a talent to learn.

Re: Night Tactics
Felix is correct. I have been stepped on several times at night not wearing a ghillie (just ask all of Ironfox, good story). You can hide just as well at night without a ghillie as with one, however you can't move at all without being very loud. So, either way you can be invisible, but with the ghillie you give yourself away every time you move. You can't see to avoid snagging it on stuff. As for hicaps, you only sound like a mariachi band if you do it wrong. When you load your mags, you have to pack them tight so they don't rattle. When carrying your gun, handle it with some finesse and it won't rattle either.

Re: Night Tactics
Even if you dont pack them tight, if you run with your abdominals tight and attempt to keep your chest from 'not moving' as you run, your rig wont rattle. Im guessing thats the whole holding gun fi,esse'ly thing

Re: Night Tactics
I don't think I have ever seen Dom run. That maybe why his rig so quiet. As previously stated. Slow and stead win the race. During the SC vs GA game a friend and I were sneaking through the woods near the the fort at the upper left of the field (unfortunately can't remember the name). When we heard movement we dropped to the ground and proceeded to army crawl along the path. We saw about 20 or GA players come out of the woodwork moving towards the SC HQ. Even though we were on the path with moonlight on us moving slowly and staying as close to the shadows as possible we were able to crawl up to a point where they passed across the path without noticing us. Neither of us were wearing gullies and my friends Hi-cap never rattled once. So suffice it to say once more. Slow and steady wins the race.

Re: Night Tactics
I only run when I need to. If you do it, right, you rarely have to run.
