Santa vs Grinch at CDWC

Post by Gambler » Mon Dec 05, 2011 9:59 am

Had a great time on Sunday at this event. AJAX had about 12 -14 people running depending on time of day. We rolled over the base across from Rex twice coming up behind it through the woods and catching the whole base by surprise. Steevo had a great view of it the first time as he was down in the valley picking off the greenies. The first time we assaulted it we only had 6 people, but the second time we had 14 and took and held it for awhile. Those two assaults made my date. Had a great weekend hanging out with everyone.

I'm not going to say it was a good game, because it wasn't. Hitcalling issues were horrible, players got obnoxious during disputes, etc, etc. That having been said, I had a great weekend. Columbia > motel > Wafflehouse > CDWC > Cracker Barrel > Columbia makes for a good time.

I had a good time, but it's a real shame when you spend time sneaking through a creek bed up behind a full fire team and half of them don't want to call 10 rounds from 50' away. To their credit, when I told them I watched the rounds hit them they did put on their dead rags, but I had to call myself out to do it because one of them had shot me long after I hit him (first of them I shot) and if I put myself back into play they probably would have thought I was being dishonest just so I wouldn't be hit, and it wasn't worth that. So, another long walk back to the dead zone.

There were many douchebags on and off the field. Good thing we steamrolled the s__t out of them. Oh well, if they can't run with guns, they gotta run their mouths.

My day started of with a 249 that worked great in the parking lot then when we hit the field the box mag decided not to feed. I had to grab my pistol and run to the middle of the Rex to where diesel was get the truck keys. Got my mags loaded and the M4 on line and rolled back out. Hooked up with Gam and V and rolled back out to the Rex. we traded BB's with the greenies for a while and decided to do our first "suicide walk". We were tired of doing nothing so we would walk around the right flank in the wide open dumping mags til we got hit. We are not very good a suicides, I dumped 3 mags and didn't get hit until I was almost on their line.

Whatever... we rolled down to DZ5 to respawn and then went to pick a fight (we picked a lot of fights throughout the day) We were tailed by 5 or 6 greens so V, Gam and I stayed back to have some fun and the rest of AJAX and friends rolled on to... shhh, we're hunting 6miwimeta. V and I got popped, Gam bugged out.

Ended up respawning at DZ5 again. it was our respawn behind enemy lines, we really enjoyed that. 6 of us ended up there and decided to move up the tape line and come in behind their HQ...6 dudes blasting out of the tree line killing anything in range while the rest just turned and ran. 6>25 haha hell yeah!!

We regrouped and reinserted at our main spawn point and found what seemed like most of tan standing around trying to figure out what to do since green had the Rex. Without stopping Diesel said you want the Rex? the Co says where you going? We're going to go pick a fight and get the Rex, which 10mins later was done. We did another "suicide walk" we suck so bad at those! 1/2 that side of the field is dead before we can be suicided... We regrouped did some more stuff and ended our day with a 12 man assault on their HQ which we held for a while and really only lost because some of us ran out of ammo and the 4 or 5 of us in their HQ were rushed by a isht ton of greenies.

Day was over, it was fun. Don't give a crap about points, I was there to shoot fools with my friends. Hit calling issues were not an issue for me, it just means I can shoot you again and again but was was rampant. I think some of that is due to the 1 hit, take a hike to respawn rule that field has. Those were some long uphill walks that seemed to get longer as the day went on.

Screw it, it had been a looooong time since I played last and I had fun, AJAX is doing isht right, moving as an organized unit, communicating properly and executing throughout the day. Very proud of the team
Say what you want, think what you want, it won't change the fact that AJAX will do what we want, when we want, including roll the ____ over you.

Haha, yeah, when I started to get surrounded I decided it was time to bug out. I was surprised I didn't get lit up as soon as I took off. it would have worked out better if the guys V shot had called their hits.

I will say this, Great weekend. 10 players staying in the same hotel equals fun, and neighbors asking us to keep it down. Oh the look on his face when the door opened. Priceless. As far as the game, I had a blast. Didn't worry bout hit calling, as long as I called mine, that is all that matters.
I got to shoot 82d in the creek, what a blast. Got shot up by Gunship, oh well. Shot Joey from Raptor 1 with my pistol, loved that, but the best part was the first attack on their HQ. I went into the main building and the look on the kids face, as I shot him with my pistol, was another priceless look. I have never seen so many dead running away. We really scared the crap out of them. The 2nd assaults was a lot more thought out and organized. As in, we set up to shoot them when they came out of deadzone, and the general with the m60, was a primary target, that was quickly erased this time, and was never a factor.
To sum it up would be what Joey(Mr Castle) said. Ya'll just stirring up a lot of crap and causing trouble.
That made it a good weekend. Mission accomplished.

At 300'sh it's hard to tell if you make contact... sometimes. But there are times when you can read the body language such as the "Holy Crap Duck". I have to say that every shot that I positively knew that I hit my mark was called. It's the ones that I was shooting at that distance into a shadowed area such as a bunker that I couldn't tell.

Made one shot across Rex to the bald guy sniping. I think anyone with range got into a fire fight with him. One shot I took at him I really didn't think I hit, but he came up with a dead rag. Thanks!

Playing airsoft with the guys then eating Cracker Barrel afterwards = win win!
