SQA Spring Airsoft March 24
Seeing as no one made a thread, I thought I'd make one.
I'd like to start out to say that was a great game and a great turnout by far. I loved playing all the different game types that day. The players were great and everything was moving smoothly. The only thing I didn't like were those 15-25min breaks in between each game type. I feel that more games could have been played if not for those 15-25min breaks in between. Other than that the day was solid and My team had a great time. I'm sure everyone else had a great time too.

Re: SQA Spring Airsoft March 24
Alright, I was going to start a thread if no one else had, but now that it's here, thanks for starting it
I appreciate the input about the 15-25 min downtime between games. Honestly, It's probably never going to be shorter than that. That's a good time period for people to reflect, and then bounce back into a game. And with as many people that showed up, I think we did a good job.
In other news, we had over 120 people show up, with 80-100 on the field at any given time. To put that in perspective, we were expecting about 50 people to show up, and before this Saturday, our highest attendance record was 66 people. All things considered, I think we adapted very well to the situation, and ran everything as well as could be expected with that many people.
Anyway, everyone else, please let us know how you felt about the game. What did we do bad? What did we do right? What can we do to make it better?

It needed MOAR cowbell.
Perfectly smooth, again downtime isn't something us AOSCians are use to. Maybe some wacky objectives or wider boundaries of play when we have that many people?

Great match and great field! I have been once before, and the huge turnout this time really amazed me. The huge amount of players really made things chaotic (in a good way!) and wild. Still love those trenches and the overall different types of matches and gametypes. Overall very fun day, well... Until it started pouring!! Then it was every man and woman for themselves! :O

I have to say I had a blast. I made it to the last couple games; I came out there with the guys from TriggerTyme. It was my first time playing Airsoft so I would like to thank everyone I meet and made my first experience fun. Can’t wait to do it again.

To add to Star_folder comments...
1. Thanks for everyone that came out. We had a good time and we truly hope you had a good time too!
2. We want to thank Rev for running the Chrono. His group came up from the beach and we put him to work. Thanks Rev!
3. We loaned out over 30+ AEGs (AKs, M4s, M16s, M14s, Thompsons, plus other odds/ends AEGs & even an M60 later in the day) and we still had a few left.
4. As a group, we consumed at LEAST some 46 pizzas, 150+ bottles of water, 40+ gatorades, and a few Mountain Dews.
5. We have pictures from Saturday, thanks to the Buttons, Ger (the camera man) and Ty, who posted them. Check them out here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 6203939726 (For those that can, feel free to tag the pictures)

Re: SQA Spring Airsoft March 24
I just wanna tell a story of my favorite part of the day.
At the start of the 2nd trench game that lasted 20 mins. Team Extorrus headed into the forest, all 8 of us. As we ran through we got separated because one of my guys, Broken Shadow, was getting shot at and my brother Shadowspec and I got caught in the cross fire. The three of us fell back and got down and waited while the other 5 of our guys kept advancing forward. We lay in the forest for about 3 minutes when the guys who were shooting at us decided to move up because they though the three of us had moved back, there were 6 of them. We saw them as they inched closed to us, mind you we wear ACU (Our Awesome Cool Uniforms ;p). As they reach the threshold of our kill zone we unloaded and sprayed into it. At one point the kid that was with them started dancing like a swarm of bees were stinging him, waving his hand around yelling stop. We stopped firing after about 30 seconds and all proceeded to our feet and began to sweep through in a wedge formation. As we swept through, we came across enemy contact from behind and took them out swiftly moving through fast, fire and advancing. We took out around 15-18 people all together with the ambush and sweep we did of the woods until we reached the road. At the road, we noticed the rest of Team Extorrus came from behind the enemy trench and they stormed it causing spawns to change. We regrouped and proceeded to the left flank of the fight this time with 5 of us and three staying back as rear security. We came into little contact on the left flank as only 3 hostiles engaged us they were taken out swiftly. Daniel7400, Schmarvin, Broken Shadow, Shadowspec and I got on line as there was no more resistance on the left flank. We began a sweep through the forest and out to the open where the trench battle was going on, taking out anything we saw moving, luckily we didn't team kill anyone. The game ended when we got done with our final sweep.
I'd have to say, STX's training wasn't for nothing lol

Re: SQA Spring Airsoft March 24
Glad to hear that everyone had an overall enjoyable time.
Games may have ended around 4, but those of us keeping things running didn't head out until around 8. We always welcome comments and suggestions (and donations), and we hang around to clean guns and talk about how the day went.
@AsianHawk
We always kick ourselves about time between games. On our worst days we have spent anywhere between 30-35 minutes trying to get everyone squared away between games. Having expected around 50 people, I am amazed and thankful for everyone being aware and receptive between game turnovers.
The reason some of that mid-game time can go on so long is because of our rental guns. When you have 40+ guns on the field in the hands of people who usually don't know what they're doing you're bound to have 5-10 broken ones. Even after short 20minute rush style games.
Those of you who were there will note we had to call out for broken guns and reloads between every game, and trust me; there were plenty of them every time. So for players who have their own guns and ammo, it seems like dead time. But the 6 or 7 of us trying to take care of the newer players are running around like maniacs trying to get rolling.
We have always worked on cutting that time down as much as possible. We basically got it down to this:
1. Ask if guns are broken, form line
2. Fix/replace broken rentals.
3. Ask if rentals need reloads, form line
4. Reload guns.
5. Split teams**
6. Play
**This was one issue that came up during the day. Mojo mentioned to me, and i agree with him on this, that when you're playing short games and you AREN'T distinguishing teams via camo things get confusing. A lot of team killing ends up going on and we do are best to avoid that.
Per mojo's advice I designated Alpha and Bravo teams from that point on. We would split teams by camo, but because of the nature of our games we get a lot of new and inexperienced players; which we encourage. The more people playing airsoft means we all have more people to shoot at.
However, a lot of these inexperieced people show up in civs or green based camos, making team balancing a pain.
For those of you who read this far: kudos and thank you. I love playing at the Escue's place and being able to help out anyway I can. I know BaldEagle has a LOT planned for this field and I'm excited to help shape it. We love getting people into airsoft, but we are finally also getting into the more serious airsoft players game. We hope to run bigger games on larger portions of the field in the future.
As previously stated comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. We really do spend a lot of time trying to figure out what airsoft players want to get out of games and we are working towards doing that.

Re: SQA Spring Airsoft March 24
i myself dont mind the break between games so much it allows time to socialize and catch up with old friends which in my humble opinion is 50 percent of airsoft not to mention it allows a team to talk about the last game and what they need to improve on as a unit. also im not a young pup anymore and i dont have the energy i used to but i do understand that the younger more energetic players are anxious to get back out there. i will say one of the funnest parts of the day for me on the field was rallying abunch of younger alpha players and watching them charge forward that was awesome. i have always thought that the escues and team gold have done an awesome job running games. saturday was a great way for the new players to get introduced to the sport of airsoft and i think the admin did that quite well as well as some experience players being able to have fun when another game went bust. my hats off to the florida guys for coming up to sc to play i sincerely hope you guys had fun and hope you return again in the future. i look forward to when i get the opportunity to play at sqa again.

I wanted to take a moment and thank all involved with putting on this game! This was my first airsoft experience and I had a great time. Thank you so much guys for loaning out a gun to me and my buddy so that I could play. I am now hooked and have already bought two airsoft guns so I will be ready in the future.
--One other note someone let my buddy borrow a woodland camo top and we couldn't find him after the game so I stll have it. The shirt has Dixon for the name and we borrowed it from a guy that was wearing a ghillie suit. If that combo rings a bell to anyone let me know so I can get it back to its rightful owner.
