Real Steel Pics
Re: Real Steel Pics
I may very well just make this one a dedicated hunting rifle and restore a second one since they're so cheap.

That sounds like a great idea. Let me know when you go get your second one and I may pick one up as well.SteevoLS wrote:I may very well just make this one a dedicated hunting rifle and restore a second one since they're so cheap.
.40 calibers are nice. I have shot a Ruger SR40c and was very pleased with it. The best thing you can do is find someone who has one and is willing to allow you to shoot it and then starting looking for a model that suits your needs. Handguns are a different ballgame compared to rifles and shotguns.marpat96 wrote:I just think a .40 would be something different than the 9mm and .45 Good to try something new

I've also thought about getting into revolvers, specifically a .38 special. My faher owns one for self defense.

Take what I say on RS pistols with a grain of salt.
I wouldn't buy a .38 Revolver. If I was going with a revolver I would opt for a heavy cartridge. You losing fire rate and ammo capacity with a revolver, so stopping power is even more necessary.

Re: Real Steel Pics
well on mosins heres something for all the "purest"
my not so little soviet 1932 hex receiver izhevsk 91/30 (always been a sucker for the bayonet)
not to clear but you can make out the izhevsk factory mark on the (bottom) and the old soviet stamp (on top)
(sorry haven't filled in with any color yet)
keep a few stripper clips around. their always handy.
and my baby a old 20's (cant remember exact date) winchester model 12. (this is the 12 gauge model if anyone was wondering)
and as they are well know for their handy little take down trick ready to be frown into the back pack for those long nature walks.

Stripper clips are indeed quite handy, but I *hate* the new production ones. Way too many sharp edges.
