Suggestions for a secondary

Post by Kalistur » Mon Jun 25, 2012 2:02 pm

I'm new to airsoft, and right now I'm running a stock Cyma Ak-47, and was trying to decide on a good backup weapon, mainly for CQB. I'll get a pistol at a later date, but at the moment I'm looking for a CQB-only AEG, such as a sub-machine gun or something like that. Please comment with suggestions. Price range is negotiable, but I'd rather it not be outrageous. Just, something cool and reliable.

Get yourself an AK74U. Cross compatible with the mags you already have, and compact size to boot.

Both CYMA and DBoys make excellent entry level AK74U models.

Steel-bodied AK74u by Dboys, on Airsoftgi for $150. But get what works for you.

AK74U would be good unless you want more variety, in which case I suggest an MP5/MP5K. A CYMA MP5K would be excellent, as you could carry it with you as a pistol.
I do not always accidentally, but when I do, I accidentally the whole thing.

While an AK would work with your mags, if your looking for variety a p90 is an excellent cqb weapon. The only issue is that the tm p90 is pretty much the only p90 worth buying and they can be hard to fine and are on the expensive side

Fantastic idea. The convenience of having to only buy one type of mag would be nice, and it probably would be quite easy to transition between the two seeing as how they are similar weapons. I was, however, considering both the P90 and the MP5K to give my loadout some variety, but I'm still unsure. I'd love a P90, but like dftrent12 said, they are hard to find and expensive when you do. Still undecided, but I'm giving serious thought to all the suggestions except the minigun. Thanks all for your help!

Don't buy an M11. Seriously, they're crap.

Avenger, why do you care if he posts here or not? And how about having more input than saying something sucks?
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

Ahh, that surely must come from your fountain of airsoft knowledge... I have seen quite a few of the KWA Mac11's and they seem to be very good. While I personally wouldn't recommend one of the GBB SMG's simply because you will be burning through the mags in one or two seconds, KWA makes some very nice GBB SMG's. The previous recommendations about AK-74U's are what I would personally go with. Having identical magazines is awesome and saves on the money. One of the negatives about gas guns is the price of extra magazines, compared to those of AEG's
