DPMS AR-15

Post by TokenTech89 » Sat Jul 28, 2012 9:55 pm

is it possible to upgrade a DPMS AR-15 to compete in field games.

It is similar to an M4/M16 build. Been looking up what Black panther is compatible with and google ain't giving any straight forward answers.

Any help is thankful.

If the gearbox is metal, yes, if the gearbox is plastic, no.

i will know more about the gearbox tomorrow.

As far as compatibility wise, what brand was rebranded as black panther so we know what we have to work with

It's a JG gun with a different name, so everything should fit.

sweet.

i am helping someone get their ar15 to compete with my m16A4. he was thinking about throwing it out, but with this news, he can actually put in effort

He was also wanting to trade me my M16, but i think helping him be able to compete with it is just as good.

Well it can't be anything remotely high end, and it has to be somebody that gets involved with Cybergun. This rules out KWA/VFC/G&P/CA (high end) and rules out DBoys and A&K since their M4s are not rebranded. CYMA M4s are only rebranded with the full Colt trademarks, meaning the only option left is JG.

You probably have a JG M4.

Is the receiver metal or plastic?

It's possible, but at this point, it would be cheaper to buy a new gun with non LPEG externals.

the only thing that would be a big issue is to replace the gearbox. he wants to make it a M16 dmr

Do standard AEG M4 mags fit in the gun? I really think it's not the best idea to do this. You should try and find a cheaper M16 with a metal body instead.

yup, standard AEG m4 mags fit in it. i mean, if it fails, at least he will have a spare gearbox like i do for my gun. but if it succeeds and it is brought back. heads will roll
