kirk, we appreciate that you brought it up and no one wants to sweep anything under the rug. That doesn't do anyone any good. Trust me, if there was a way to make sure everyone followed the rules all the time, we would have already done it. We can make more rules, add more Reps, and enforce the rules as much as we can, but when it comes right down to it if the players themselves choose to do things like that we can't always stop it. Even if we are there, we may not notice it. Bottom line, it's not OK, and we will/are doing everything we can to make it better. Like Stephen said, every single player needs to not only bring this stuff up to a Rep at the game, but even more importantly than that everyone needs to self police. As a player it is not only OK, but is encouraged that you remind others of the rules.

Often times players don't say anything because they think it is not their place, but that's not the case. You, as a player, have every right to call people out (with due respect, don't be a jerk of course) if they are not following the rules. You have a right because it endangers your safety or hinders your game play. I'd even go so far to say that every player has a responsibility to say something if they know another player is not following the rules whether safety rules or proper game play rules.

Now, don't take this the wrong way, your concern is valid and you did the right thing bringing that incident up, but you need to understand that there, frankly, aren't many groups you can compare us to in bad light. The only organizations that run more safe games are indoors where they have constant supervision of everyone and very small groups of players that are very easy to supervise. The vast majority of other airsoft games throughout the country have a lower level of overall safety than the AOSC. Even national events are often fraught with serious safety issues. I will tell you, from personal experience, that Fulda Gap, Southern Comfort (a Lionsclaws event), Oklahoma Invasion (a MilSim Events event), and SOCO (an Airdog event, the only large Georgian game I have ever been to) all had considerably poorer levels of safety rule enforcement than we do in the AOSC. I can't tell you how many dozens and dozens of times at those games I saw people doing stupid and unsafe things that were in direct violation of the rules at these events. At SOCO, a literal trailer load of players was being driven right up the main road through the very center of a massive firefight, and more than half of them had their eyepro totally removed. Needless to say I freaked out and started yelling at them to put their eyepro on because they were literally in the midst of BBs passing right by them. I got a weird look from one of the admins driving it, like "What is that guy so upset about?". Simply put, I was shocked. Heck, at Southern Comfort, the head of the game admins shot another admin an inch above his eye, neither with eyepro on, while he was chronoing because he never lowered the gun or took his finger off the trigger when he turned to talk to someone. That entire day I watched so many people remove their eyepro in game I stopped bothering to tell people not to, because they ignored me. At OKI VI and Fulda Gap it was the same thing almost, plus lots of other general issues.

I know we are not perfect, which is why we are adding new Reps, have added some new rules, and why I am asking more players to step up and police themselves when we can't be around and report issues when we can address them directly. But the bottom line is that anyone that thinks that the AOSC does not run some of the better run games of any group similar to ours has either never been to games run by other groups like us, or is lying to themselves and needs to step back and review the facts, not sensationalist claims.

Once we had a lady at a TT game that was taking her eyepro off in the middle of the game. A player went up to her and reminded her that it was against the rules, and that she needed to keep them on at all times (exactly what he was supposed to do). She replied that she was a nurse, and ignored him. I'm still not sure why her occupation was relevant lol. The player then did exactly what he was suppossed to do, even though it was the middle of the game and he probably would rather have gone off looking for a firefight, he came and found me nearby and told me what had happened. I found the lady and explained in no uncertain terms that the rules applied to her just as much as anyone else, and that if she argued with a player that reminded her to follow the rules again, she would be having a very short day of airsoft. She apologized and I paid close attention to her the rest of the day. We never had another issue with her. This is a good example of how things are supposed to work if a Rep is not able to directly address the problem themselves.

Now, I know that story doesn't directly apply to your incident, and I am not trying to rant at you by any means kirk, but since we're on this subject I just wanted to stress the point that the players themselves are the first line of defense against rule violations and apply some perspective to the topic because there have been people lately that have lost perspective.

The AOSC, in it's three years of running games every other weekend and more, has never once had a serious medical incident or breach of safety that resulted in one. That's a wonderful track record. However, we are not perfect, and though we always try, we will never run a perfect game of airsoft. There are improvements that can be made, and we seek them from wherever they may come. Well reasoned suggestions and the citing of issues that aught to be examined are always taken into consideration.

ok here is my take on the game , I arrived at the field at 10:30 or 11:00 pm Friday night to camp out and have fun socializing with some friends . This is the great thing about the Aosc , having to waiting for your ex to get there with ,my boys at 9pm is not , hence my late arrival . Upon arrival I was asked to be CO for the Alpha side. Needless to say I had declined this before , but felt ,it being last min, ishould go ahead . I have no prvious experince in being a CO before , and was hoping to have Gold Team help me out :o , bad Idea !lol Then wake up Sat morning and everybody I was hoping could help me turned out to , hurt me more , Even I was hoping Red could help out Alpha !! Another bad Idea ! Then I figured it out Gold team was Black water , Suprise !! And to ad insult to injury some of ajax also ! See my gloomy out look starting to form here ???? ??? Needless to say everybody that did show up for the Alpha team , played and went above and beyond the call of duty and helped made this easy and fun ! The main reason you didnt see Alpha all day people is because we were doing what Helped us raise ALOT of MONEY , I Think 1.5 Million ! we keept bases and most of the time the most expensive ones . I led a small fire team that tried to hunt done the defector, got into some pretty intense fire fights with bravo , some which can be seen on Romba's video .!!! And Yes Romba that was my "U Can't See Me !" John Cena imitation , coming from out of the woods ! lol

Blackwater played thier part perfect and my hats off to you guys , ! Even though I dont like being double crossed , that is is the name of the game . Also Ghost , I figured if you guys could screw us over , why could we not stiff you on some of the payments !!! I can play dirty too !!! lol :P

The evening game was by far the best games though , take away the big scenaro's , and objectives and with a small number of people thesegames become fun in my opinion. the first lasted out the time limit , but the second game for me was epic , because we won and beat Dom at his own game .We had to get the VIP to camp wounded, starting off at Lincolns hold . We hit the road on the far side and walked all the way to the parkinglot , then came to the pea patch ,completly unnoticed ! from there went down to the stream and game up the creek , thought we wer gonna have to fight Dom there, but Our luck before he saw us ,turned and walked off down the creek away from us . so we strolled right up to the camp untouched and never had seen another Bravo player except Dom. Then creeping ovr the ridge of the creek, we saw two bravo players there but looking away and showing us thier backs , so I took out one and my son took out the other , Think of seal team 6 style !! then we just walked into the base with the VIP ,!! Two shots fired all game , I think that was pretty good !

So overall I had a good day , and enjoyed the fellowship all day , Plus the after game dinner trip to the waffle house with Dom , my boys, Gerbelizer, Hoss and a friend of theirs was great !!! jUst a heads up , AFTER MOST OF THE AIRFARM GAMES, WE GO TO THE LOCAL WAFFLE HOUSE AND ALWAYS HAVE A MEMORIABLE TIME , RIGHT DOM ?????!!!!!!!!!!

As far as the turn out ........, I have my theroies , but I will save them for later , hopefully they will be fixed in time .

GREAT JOB MR MAURDER FOR YOUR FIRST TIME ,MINE WAS APPLE PIE THIS WAS YOURS , WE HAVE SET SOME PRETTY HIGH STANDARS , BUT I THINK WE CAN HANDLE IT !

I have to hand it to you, that was indeed a textbook case of a Domtastic manoeuvre sur les derrieres. Even if I had not gone down the creek the opposite way to see what all that shooting was about, you probably would have been able to shoot me. The fact that you saw me and I never saw you is good evidence to that effect, you would have waited until you had a clean shot on me. Very nice work indeed!

I had a great time despite the low turnout. The scenario and the sportsmanship was outstanding. The best part of the game was the pickup games, but the best part of the day was the post game meal at Waffle House. Also, thank you Robbie for helping fix my stock on my G&G after it fell off during the pickup games.

Being relatively new to the AOSC, this pretty much sums up why I did not say much at the time, plus the apathy of the other players about it. I know I said "within the AOSC" in my earlier post, but it wasn't meant in any way to put blame on the organization or compare to any other, since I have not played in any other. It was just my way of saying, "the people who show up to games".

The stories you bring up of other airsoft events do sound quite chaotic. It's surprising to me that large advertised games such as Fulda would have issues such as that. If I ever go to one of these events I'll have to get comfortable wearing my goggles all day.
I apologize if I seem a bit on edge about things like this, it's just part of my critical mentality. I've had jobs as safety and fire watch in construction before for this reason, it's something that carries on.

That is perfectly understandable, and there is nothing at all wrong with what you said. Knowing that you are fairly new, and knowing that you have the best of intentions I merely wanted to provide you with some context. That does not mean that your concern isn't valid, but it's always good to keep things in perspective. I don't want you to get the wrong idea. If you ever approach me with such an issue at a game, or have problems approaching other players with them, you can count on me to act (That goes for all Reps).

Did I lend anyone my propane adapter or propane with an adapter on it at this game? I know I used it there but I have not been able to find it since then.
