Seriously? Second post and we're already getting into that? Man, I remember when people saved the "wah they didn't play fair" crap for the second page. If you don't like it, stay home. :P

I didn't actually play, but I was there to take pictures, and I've got to say that it was one of the more active games I'd ever attended, which is a far cry from what I'm used to. I've been working on resizing the pictures, and I've already got them up on Facebook. If I'm feeling generous later, I'll put them on Photobucket and put 'em in a pictures thread.

Saw some decent action, got shot a couple of times by both sides, got lit up a few times by Alpha's armor, got bumped by Bravo's technical while it was trying to reverse (no injuries, I'm afraid), and I had fun hanging out and getting to be a part of it. Hell, I was sad to go... I would've probably been willing to stay up until sunset (unfortunately, my camera doesn't work very well in the dark, so there would be no point in sticking around for the night game) if I hadn't had to pack up and go to work.

Despite the low turnout, we had a great game. There were a few instances of people cheating, but unfortunately, that can be expected. Garrett did a great job facilitating gameplay: If I hadn't been at the safety briefing, I would've never guessed that there were so few players.

Dom and Marauder did a great job commanding our forces, and I'd be happy to have them in command again.

E1Operator, you have no right to complain about the tanks until you show up at a game with a real one.

Also, the Indian military actually has golf cart assault vehicles, so...

Well overall I enjoyed the game. Especially the night portion. The tanks made it interesting though I wished there was more ways to eliminate them. Had some good objectives even though the Intel info seemed to get a lil mixed up at times. Good number of people with many firefights. All the alpha players I encountered were true to the rules even when I stealth killed 7 of em they didn't make sound. I had a scrap or two with cleric and he played honest when I had contact with him. Made some good friends and got some great stories. IMPROVEMMENTS: some of the information on objectives seemed to get conflicting info initially even though it did get resolved eventually, if tanks are to be in play more of a warning to prepare and more ways to kill tanks. Also would like some more action revolving around the buck tower base 2 since it would encourage larger engagements due to being mid field. Would also like some kind of perks for successfully capturing enemy HQ. Like I said overall great and I'm not complaining just making suggestions to ponder. ;

Home and unpacked. Hope you all got home safe and sound. Sorry I wasn't able to stick around for Waffle House, but had to get on the road.
Turnout was as good as for OP: 24-III, probably a little better (~75 people).
I haven't yet found an airsoft field in the SE US that will let me bring a $80,000, 24-ton tracked diesel vehicle, trucked in via semi flatbed, onto their field and successfully maneuver it around the toy gun carrying "crunchies" via periscope. Neither will their insurance allow it even if the field didn't mind the physical damage such would do to the terrain and structures, and I'd need 2-3 paid employees just to act as safety personnel to admin kill everyone within 20 feet all day long. So armor, like bullets and grenades, must be simulated with something smaller and more 'safe', same as in paintball. If and when you attend a big event, be it The Delimination Conflict, Fulda Gap, East Wind, or a John Lu event like Lion Claws or Irene, chances you're going to be facing 'armor'. Infantry have had to deal with armor since 1916, adapt and overcome. Your forces had mines and AT weaponry, and they worked, and rules were published for them by the host weeks in advance. Time to grow up son, or stay home until you can. Rant over.
I had a good time, and thought it ran smoother and had higher participation (especially after dark) than OP: 23-III. The weather was just perfect. Lot of nice people out there camping out this time too. Rob you were a pleasure to play for. Dom I would have liked to have had more time to chat with you. Arbee, you will be missed, good luck on your new endeavor. To the gentleman I accidentally Nerfed in the groin early on Saturday, I am sorry about that.
Hope to see you guys again next year.

I wish I had missed him. He was riding in the back of the Bravo "tank" pickup truck with Dom, who had us (Rob and I) as we made a turn in the trail, but his launcher failed to fire for some reason. So we hastily shot a nerf into the back of the truck, missing Dom and nailing the poor fellow, doubling him over for a bit. He said he was okay afterward, but no doubt it hurt. Cleric thought it hilarious of course, but I was pretty embarrassed by it.

Garrett, while I liked the IED/mine rules, I would recommend going with pie plates or something similar that stands proud of the ground a bit for next time. The complete flat ones we used this weekend were about invisible to people in vehicles (including the pickup truck), and although that was no doubt your intention, it also means they were often not seen and hence effectively ignored by accident.
In the past we've found clay pigeons to be an effective 1-use mine, with enough visibility to act as a deterant/area denial even from some distance away.

I had a good time at OP 24. Ambushed Gold Team multiple times and was even a nice guy and called a safety kill on a couple of them only to be shot(I was trying to be nice believe it or not). While the tanks are annoying, they are easy to avoid and I didn't get shot by either and I did enjoy shooting Garrett as he stood next to the green one with them having no idea where I was at. I had a great time attacking Alpha's HQ both times other than when I laid down in a fire ant nest.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

Wow, what a weekend. I haven't had that much fun at an airsoft game since OP: Second Sun, or whatever the blue hole game was last feb.

My father and I arrived on the field at about 9:00, got unpacked and ready to go. Game didn't start until after 11:30, I think it was really closer to around 11:50. Come on guys, we've got a rule about this. The game starts at 10, no matter what. I don't know what the hold up was, but both of the COs were already on the field that night, as was much of the comand staff, this game should have started much earlier than it did.

Anyway, game started off, Gold and UF were instructed to take base 7 or 8, but got lost in the woods and ended up at a well gaurded base 10. Seemed to have skipped right over one of the trails that was marked on the map. Anyway, all 2 of Ajax was waiting on us, and took out our point man, Drew. Upon trying to rescue my team mate, I was shot as well (thanks Hatch). Took a little skin off right under my left elbow, you know, that part on the elbow that's always resting on something. Yeah, thanks for making me mildly uncomfortable for the rest of the day.

I bled out, and had to walk back to the HQ to respawn. Heard about some gun mishaps, and caught up with my team in the parking lot. We reentered the field, at the field, and low and behold, we found bravo players. But, they were behind us. We fell back, respawned at 11, and were discussing how to go about clearing out base 7, when we hear the rumbling of the bravo technical. We quickly dash into the woods, as we had no way to deal with it. Dom and his smug little self go rolling on by. Honestly have no idea how they didn't see us, perhaps that marpat actually worked well, who knows, we survived. We got back out to the field and found base 7 was empty, but began moving towards base 8 and 9, as there was action up in that direction. We begain engaging bravo that was on the field side of 9, when Fallout informed us that there were still bravo near base 8. We swept around and cleared them out, only to have Dom, his Technical of Terror, and several of his cronies jump out and quickly take care of us.

While we were dead, bravo was mostly just milling about, Not really doing anything in particular. Dom was telling them to flip the flag, to claim the base for bravo, but for whatever reason, no one did. Well, my 3 minute bleed out period was up, I was still, right smack dab in the middle of an alpha owned respawn, so I calmly took my dead rag off, and shot 4 of the bravo in the base with my pistol. There were only 4 of us in the base, 4 alpha, the rest of them gave up and left the base. It was Mike, Lane, myself, and a fellow with a G3 that I can't for the life of me remember his name. Mike respawned when I did, and between the two of us, we cleared the base, and mediced the other two back in. In the next hour, we proceeded to take out every bravo player that Dom brought with him, and everyone that tried to flank us. We had an M14, G3, AK, and a pistol between us, my L85 had turned off due to a programming issue. And during this whole time, Dom and his technical were sitting 20ft away on the road. Whenever someone was shot, we'd remedic them, or they'd bleed out and respawn back in. For an hour, we held out under these conditions. I was constantly trying to raise Somone on our radioes to get an AT out to where we were. For whatever reason, none would come to our aid.

Finally, at the end of an hour, about 12-15 bravo flanked us and finally cleared Base 8 AND flipped the flag. I want to appologize again to the fellow I shot. He's the first guy that popped his head over the wall of the base, we exchanged a few shots, he hit me in the hand, and for whatever reason, I pulled the trigger again and shot him. I quickly corrected my mistake and appologized numerous times. He was a good sport about it and didn't mind too much. Thankfully, my bad shot just landed on his gear.

That 1 hour was some of the most fun I've had in airsoft, and EASILY made up for the less than enjoyable start to the day.

I grabed a ride back to the parking lot, and switched out my gun to a 0ft MED. We took a small break and Gold reentered the field. We took off with some other alpha, cleared base 8, moved to base 9, and then where on our way to bases 13 and 14 to plant a bomb and blow up a bridge. All happened so fast, we continued moving and captured all the bravo players in their HQ, and walked them back as far as the 10mins would allow.

We derped around a bit, hunted some Bravo that had stationed themselves in 7, and then lost them in the woods. Eventually, we heard cries of help from the Alpha HQ, and moved that way, working to clear out the base of Bravo the bravo scum. We killed most of them, and the rest escaped. It was about 6pm, and we decided to call it a day.

The biggest complaint about the day that I have is the lack of radio contact, keeping in touch with my team was fine. I had a few issues with my mic, but that was it. However, keeping in touch with the rest of alpha, specifically our CO, seemed to be impossible. Many times we tried raising a call without a response, and when we desperately needed support for an almost undefended base 8, no one would respond. That would have been an easy kill of a the technical and Dom, Fallout is the only one who seemed to hear us, but Dom and his trickery managed to stop him rather quickly. Thank you fallout, for giving us a small bit of hope as we were bunkered down in 8.

And I think you people are babies about the technicals/tanks. That's just something you have to deal with. Yeah, Dom's techincal was unfair, he should have been able to be shot from outside the technical. But still, we dealt with it, and it wasn't a terrible issue. Just hide, or keep your heads down and bam, no problem. I survived for an hour 20ft away from him without being shot by him once.

tl;dr
Pros:
Decent turn out, good action.
Good sports, didn't have, or hear, a problem with people not calling their hits.
FANTASTIC weather

Cons:
Lack of radio contact
Late start
Game rules changing the day of a game.

All in all, like I said before, I had a fantastic time, some of the most fun I've had all year. Thank you Cleric for leading alpha, Thank you Dom for entertaining us for an hour. Thank you Mike, Lane, and Mr. G3 for bunkering down with me. There are others, but this post is challenging even the size of Dom's posts...

I am probably going to end up reiterating a lot of the things Star had to say, but I'll say them anyway.

Let's start with the bad:
1. This game did not start on time. To the point that I actually began to be frustrated. The slated game start was for 10am, and I don't think we got underway until 11:30. That is unacceptable.

I showed up at 8:30 to be good and ready, and ended up sitting around waiting on CO's or whoever to finally get together and start briefing. then after briefing it took a good 30 minutes or more for everyone to finally be at their starting bases and ready to roll out.

2. It seemed that the staff was rather unprepared for this game. I got the feeling the rules about holding/capturing bases were put into place simply because there WERE no flags available at game start. I wasn't about to ask anyone to just sit their happy bottom in a base all day, so naturally until flags were put up i had to walk all the way back to Alpha HQ to respawn for the first several hours of the day. Don't get me wrong I could use the exercise, but I think any player will agree with me that they want to see as much action as possible.

3. Tanks and Technicals: These sucked. And I think everyone can agree on it. Don't get me wrong the guys driving were all of good spirit and played fair, but as a foot soldier not sporting any AT on my squad, you saw a tank you just had to run. No excuses.

Bravo will complain that Alpha had two tanks that were unstoppable: completely legitimate complaint.
Alpha will complain that Bravo had one tank that tripled as troop transport, command center, and multidirectional unstoppable turret: also legitimate. Don't say its not, lol.

If tanks are going to be in play there needs to be a better way to impede them. Dom was an Engineer or whatever and was able to deploy IED's or RPG's from his Technical, I can't blame him; if there are rules to exploit I expect him to be the first to do it.

If there's going to be AT CO's need to know where it is and how to deploy it. Or there needs to be dedicated AT/RPG at certain bases.

@Cleric I hadn't spoke to you about this because we ran off kind of in a hurry, but we requested AT during the day and your response was "Well if anyone has AT...go help them out". Resources like tanks and AT need to be much more decisively controlled.

4. Capturing players: Sniper targets aside, I didn't understand the gain or reason behind capturing any other player. I myself was capture a few times, and I feel like it really only turned my 3 minute bleedout into 5 minutes and then I was let go.

If capturing is not going to offer points of any kind...can we just not do it? It seems an unnecessary way to troll people make them walk more.

Now that all my griping is done let me end on a good note:

I had a great time. Very worth my $25, and I wasn't even around for burgers.

The turnout was honestly better than I expected, and all the players I ran into during the day were honest and cool-headed. Even when we did a drive-by tank bombing on Dom; which sadly turned out to be illegal.

Good day, good weather, and good people for airsoft.

Edit: I know this post is very negative, but I'm just not a very positive guy. I point out the bad so it can be fixed. I'd hope everyone knows the good, and that it continues to be the good at every ongoing AOSC event.

Cleric I believe Rev was referencing mine and his completely off topic hand pointing discussion. You've gone through and simply deleted all comments with accusations made at you.

If someone wants to complain about the game or players at the game this IS the place to do it. 90% of the post I made is complaints.

Clear out the off topic things, sure; but the negative feedback, be it kind or unkindly spoken deserves to stay around as much as the praise. No matter who it is aimed at.

Yes I was not at the game so I do not have any input for this game. I did go off topic and my statement has nothing to do with cleric or the game.
