What does MEU stand for

Post by Krisko » Wed Jan 09, 2013 2:42 am

So i'm online about to buy a pistol, I found 2 i really like. They are almost exactly the same but one has MEU in the title and the other doesnt. They are the same price, so im wondering is that just a name or is it a type of pistol that i dont know?

The main advantage the MEU has over the standard 1911 for airsoft is the sights. It(the MEU) has the really nice triple dot NOVAK style sights, whereas the 1911A1 has the standard bevel and notch sights. Personally, I prefer the sights that are on the MEU. Now, as for gas pistols, as a person who has gone through several poor quality ones, DO NOT get the WE or ARMY 1911's. Spend the extra for the TM, its a much much better pistol from all that I have seen. In addition, consider getting a metal slide to replace the stock plastic one on the TM, since the TM pistol's are designed for duster gas and not propane.

Propane is much more powerful, and eventually the plastic slide on the TM will wear out. Now, note that the WE and TM 1911's are not compatible at least in terms of magazines, and I think the slides are not compatible either(not totally sure, but enough to caution you not to buy the WE parts)

I am a bit of a jerk.
There have been a lot of games since the last fatality. Roses are red, violets are blue, so is your car at 102

^Great advice, however TMs nowadays hold up just fine to GG and you really don't need a new slide.

I have owned a total of 3 WE GBB pistols : 1 M9 and 2 1911's and I have never had any problems with any of them. In fact all have worked extremely well, my M9 is super accurate but anything smaller then a .25 will not work well with it, and my 1911's are both super accurate as well. At one of Dom's RF games I just used my 1911 in Mile High and ever shot was a hit. They are great guns if maintained properly

At one point I had the MEU 1911. It was great looking, but sort of a gas guzzler
