TM EG30000 High-Cycle Motors

Post by Esteban » Tue Jan 15, 2013 12:00 pm

Hello everyone,

I recently acquired a new CQB project. It's one of those JG MC-51 RIS guns on wholesale price from AirsoftGI. I'm planning on gutting the internals and filling them with some Magic Box parts to try...

My target FPS is between 330 and 350FPS with a 0.20g BB. I'll be running stock JG gears until they break.

I've already selected the Magic Box parts I want, but I'm having trouble finding a motor I like.

Does anyone here have experience with the TM High-Cycle motors? Looking at the videos with the TM High-Cycle AEGs leads me to believe the motors are very efficient, but those are for low-FPS setups (~250 to 285FPS).

How would the motor perform in my target FPS of 330 to 350? Would the motor be a good choice, or should I just go with another SHS High Speed?

Here's a link to it...

It should also be noted that high cycle TMs are short stroked, so the speed that they get with the motors in them will be faster than normal.

I would get a Lonex A1 motor instead of the TM high cycle. They can be found a few places, most noticeably on clandestineairsoft.com. They are very fast and still very torque-y. They are also cheaper than the TM high cycle motor you've listed, running about $50. They are very good motors.

Which one would you use for a V2 gearbox for really good trigger response and good ROF when I need it?

SHS High Speed or Lonex A1? I got a SHS High Speed in my P90, and I'm not incredibly impressed with it.

I would use the Lonex A1. They are much, much nicer and better put together than SHS motors are. They don't have the same heat issues, and are much more efficient because of it.

While I don't disagree with Kory's advice at all, I will say that I have had great experiences with TM EG1000s over the years. They are very quiet and I have put many through a lot of stress and they performed well for long periods of time. What is your target ROF BTW?

Possibly 20-30 BBs/sec. I like the EG1000 I put in my G3...

Then you don't need anything fancy at all.

Actually just ordered another TM EG1000 from Airsoft Atlanta. I think it's my new favorite airsoft part.
