I'll be honest, CO position could be a number of great people. Dom, Cleric, Garrett too. There are many.

Re: TDC2 (SC vs GA) APRIL 27-28 2013
i agree it should be somebody different as co. garrett is running the game and dom was co at the first one and i was co last year. with that being said i think zoobie who was my xo last year would make a good one or mr marauder they both have good organizational and communication skills and i would gladly serve under either so lets hear some nominations

So, any rules to prevent hellish spawncamping like what happened at the last TDC?

The one held at the Airfarm back in 2011?
If so - You can't respawn at a spawn point that's under fire and surrounded by enemies ~30 feet away. Go elsewhere. Spawncamping problem solved.
If you're referring to the endlessly overrun SC base camp, then yes, something will have to be done about that or we're likely to have a repeat. Whenever the GA players got bored that's where they gathered like moths to a flame, since we knew we could always find someone to shoot at there.
Perhaps a 100' "no fire" zone around it, like they use for the spawns at Fulda Gap?
Garrett, please let's have some "control flags" or something similar at the objective/respawn points for this one?

How about some "no entry" zones? Don't fire into it, don't go in it. This could solve most of our problems.fallout11 wrote: If you're referring to the endlessly overrun SC base camp, then yes, something will have to be done about that or we're likely to have a repeat.
Another problems was the tanks breaking speed limits and going where they aren't supposed to go. That really wasn't cool when a Georgia tank was flying through the field at 30-40 MPH. He would have killed a guy if he hit them.
also, SC needs more armor. I remember 4 GA tanks at TDC. SC only had the A go-cart tank that broke down immediately, the technical, and the duce, and it was down for most of the game as well. I'm going to try to bring my project but if anybody has anything they can easily turn into a tank/technical, please just do it. Screen mesh is cheap and will almost always stop anything that hits it short of a rocket point blank.
And fallout, please try not to spray people in the duce too bad. You came up behind us during the first tdc and I still have 2 or 3 scars on my arm from that. Try to stick to rockets, then only 1 person will have to suffer

Already done good Sir, more info will be posted on that as we get closer.fallout11 wrote:The one held at the Airfarm back in 2011?

As for tanks, I will be putting a limit on how many for each side. But if a state shows with less, then really that's there issue.
The spawn camping issue is being dealt with as well..

If it is ok with everyone we can bring out our gun truck again to run with SC.

Re: TDC2 (SC vs GA) APRIL 27-28 2013
On the contrary (and I should know), GA had 2, count 'em, two vehicles at the first TDC, mine and the "Rage Rover" (the minigun-mounting Blazer based vehicle) provided by the owner of the Georgetown field.specter wrote: also, SC needs more armor. At this event GA will likely just have one (if any), as I doubt Alan will bring the RR back (too much trouble getting it loaded and towed that far) and I'm not aware of any other AFV's (even under construction) in GA, so don't sweat it much. Remember at last year's game, held IN Georgia, there were zero GA AFV's. Meanwhile, I can readily think of 4 SC-based AFV's (Zach Iser's, Maddog's, and Redemption's 2 vehicles) not counting the airfarm technical, 2.5 ton trucks, or your own project.
Helpful construction tip: Hardware store window screen mesh will not stop BB's, not even the aluminum kind (and not even doubled up), in addition some types of paintball mesh will not stop them either (depends on the brand and type....the good stuff will, the cheaper stuff will not). Test shoot your materials before you invest much effort in them. You would probably be better served going with a largely solid external shell, like Maddog, Zoobie/Red, or myself used. Will be happy to discuss it with you via PM.

Re: TDC2 (SC vs GA) APRIL 27-28 2013
On a related note, and this is only a "gut feeling" at this point, but I think we'll have nominally fewer GA players for this one than at TDC #1 back in 2011. Figure ~100-ish this time around.

I think I'll be a traitor again this year and play for SC despite the fact that I'd rather wear tan, and it looks like we voted for green. Which team will have contractor?

Again... SOCO was/is totally unrelated to TDC, you are further confusing people by acting like one was a sequel to the other. We are talking about the second TDC (GA vs SC).stuckmojo wrote:i agree it should be somebody different as co. garrett is running the game and dom was co at the first one and i was co last year. with that being said i think zoobie who was my xo last year would make a good one or mr marauder they both have good organizational and communication skills and i would gladly serve under either so lets hear some nominations

If Dom wants to give someone else a chance, and Diesel won't be there, I nominate Smitty. He did pretty well at OP:24 II.
One of these days, I'll volunteer. Not this time, though. I have tons of leadership experience, but I've never been in command at an airsoft event. While there's a first time for everything, I think it's best that my first time isn't at a 24 hour game with 100% more players than normal.
Besides, although I'm pretty sure I'm going, I'm not 100% sure.
I'll be on the CO's staff, though.

Doublewolf, you play with those guys down at Ft. Stewart and some "CQB" place down there?
