Streets of Mogadishu
I had fun and scared some people. It was a good scenario and field. I don't remember any issues with hit calling.

I liked the scenario and the rules, but I hated the police, they had nothing to do really so they would just randomly shoot people who were trying to capture the objectives.

Re: Streets of Mogadishu
Thank you everyone who came out to play down at The Swamp. Everyone had fun and had a great time. Yes, the police sucked , but you had to really watch who your target was and make tough decisions. Bravo got alot of opportunities but did take as many as we should have. The last 15 minutes before lunch was the greatest part of the first half of the Op.
Picture, 6 guys with a pilot and his wife, bunkered down with limited ammo holding off Alpha players long enough to gain control of the second half of the Op. Medics rushing to healothers, exchanging mags to keep Alpha players at bay. Support a long ways away, alpha players surrounding the area and moving in slowly. Just when all hope is lost and ammo is low, more Bravo players come in for support.
Epic moment.

I'm going to go with epic moment being the time the entire Bravo squad didn't see me in a ditch so I happily laid more than 10 dudes out in less than 2 minutes...

Re: Streets of Mogadishu
Hi all,
I would like to thank everyone to who came out this weekend for the AOSC Op at the Swamp.
My son and I had a great time playing with the Police and everyone that came out.
It was a great turn out for the first AOSC event at The Swamp. We all had a great time and it looks like everything went as planned in the game.
Big thanks to Cleric and Dom for working with me to put this together.
Again thanks everyone…Rnzilla (Ron ).

On that note, with my "hit checks" that day I had a 100% call rate.Gerbilizer wrote:I don't remember any issues with hit calling.

Re: Streets of Mogadishu
I have to say, one thing that was most impressive (and frustrating) was the quality of play of the younger kids who are swamp "regulars". They obviously had a slight upper hand on knowing the field over us AOSC regulars, but regardless they were good players. Communicated well, moved quickly, were very difficult to hide from once I was spotted, and called their hits. I'm not sure that any of them will ever see this, but well done.
As for the field itself, I was also pleasantly surprised. I think because at this specific game the Bridge was a master respawn, it kept engagements from happening in some of the more remote areas. I did have a chance to scout out almost the whole perimeter, and liked what I saw.
The CQB area I actually liked a whole lot more than I thought I would. I was able to snipe in that general area with ease. Most places that are CQB require me to stay on the total perimeter of the CQB section to use my 100ft MED guns. Not here.
One thing almost sent me over the edge, and I just have to get it off my mind... A teammate and I (running Bravo) were flanking a group of Alpha, but didn't close in before they were all hit from a Bravo force in a base. We started to backtrack when my teammate got team killed by some trigger happy people from inside the base. Ok, no big deal, people make mistakes. He yelled that he was Bravo, they confirmed they were Bravo, etc. At this same time I start to get engaged by Alpha closing in on me from the opposite direction. I decide my best chance is to heal my teammate since my primary has 100ft MED and Alpha was closing fast. I slide down on the ground holding his ankle to heal him, when I'm hit by the SAME PEOPLE IN THE BASE. I had to restrain myself from approaching these guys and shooting them point blank with my 470fps gun; I made sure to walk to respawn somewhere else. Half of the reason for this post is just to vent, but the other half is to tell people-- if you team kill me, or any other player for that matter, you better come running to heal them. With cookies in hand. The next time this happens I am not going to rest until that player gets kicked. Pathetic lack of sportsmanship by whomever that was. Edit: I'm sure someone will tell me that team hits do or don't really count, but when I was hit I was initially not sure who hit me, so I called it. By the time I figured it out, Alpha was on top of me.
Otherwise, I had tons of fun with my new DMR (the first kill I got with it was at about 215 feet, and was caught on film from both directions, can't wait to see what that looks like), and meeting a bunch of people face to face who I talk to on the forums. Hope to make the long trek again in the future.

Re: Streets of Mogadishu
I remember that. there was a whole group of Alpha players from where you were coming not even 5 minutes before you came that way. Some one thought you were alpha from a distance and shot. Another moment I had was when I shot a policeman, but didn't know who it was. All of a sudden we (me and a sniper) saw 5 others show up around him. We looked down our scopes and saw they were policeman, and ran like hell away. LOL

I bribed the villager with water to shoo the police away in the beginning. And we gave the pilot a pistol to defend in the fort before lunch.

Re: Streets of Mogadishu
Loved the game guys, there was a lot going on but it was well executed.
Bad first: The communal respawn was rough the first half of the day. People camping and reloading, spending the better part of 10mins hanging out. I had to yell at people multiple times do to the fact that the area was an active play area.
The Good: I heard just a few of the "Call your Hits" which was nice for a game this size. People were able to play the game without too much drama. I got some good footage and a number of photos for everyone. It will be up this week.
The police added a number of challenging situations. At one point I had to thread a BB through one of their legs just to hit an alpha player. (Successfully)
To the guy by the river behind Sumter, I didn’t mean to get you in the face but at 200+ ft. I'm just glad to get the shot.
AOSC is welcome back any time, and not just for your games. We are constantly trying to grow the field and your participation only helps us figure out what to do next.

i bribed the police with some free burgers for a medic, Ron and Matt to the rescue lol. Matt pulls my dead rag so i blast 4 bravo's with my HK USP (walmart wonked, bitches) before they could get their guns up
and then i tuck into the back of ron's legs, grab the SR, and get ready to pop the last two, when OW SHIT the back of my hand!
AAAAND i had black gloves on.
not to kiss ass but this mother shot me from 125ft while tucked behind a cop in the back of my black gloved hand. thats a shot.
