Redfox March 2nd

Post by atl » Sat Mar 02, 2013 6:48 pm

The game was a pretty standard redfox game got to see some old faces. The day started out pretty crappy with the weather and getting soaked but it cleared up as the day went on. The games were still pretty fun but I had to leave at 3:30 for a b-ball game.
My major complaniant was spawn camping by bravo aprt from that it was pretty good. Also remember that even if you put 50 rounds into an area doesn't mean that you nessecarily hit the person hit even though you think you must have hit them(I had trouble remembering this) your mask is fogged and there is brush all around.
oh yeah also I got to see romba

Many thanks to all those that braved the weather and came out. Had an excellent turnout despite the weather.

Indeed, I was surprised at how many people showed up in snow. I wish it had dropped a few degrees so it would have been snow on the ground instead of mud, but whatever.

The first game had me pretty pissed off because I had to tell 6 people in ten minutes to put their eyepro back on. There is no excuse for that. Once I announced that the next person was going to get to stand next to the admin until lunch and just wandered around looking for people with eyepro off, I couldn't find any. It seems that will have to be the solution. At the next game, the first person I see with eyepro off is going to get to stand next to me for half the game and help me look for more people taking it off. Maybe it will take a lot of people having to sit out for this problem to be solved. It's downright ridiculous frankly. If you see me walking around with a bunch of people at the SQA game, it'll probably be because I caught them with their eyepro off.

Anyway, rant aside, the first two games were at Marine Firebase. Two difficult uphill battles, I was present for the Bravo win of the second one, watched Cleric hop in the bunker and have Alpha guys stare at him and not shoot, then fire pistols wildly at him without aiming lol. He jumped up under the metal thing and laid there, and a kid jumped down in the pit and looked right through an opening at him, it took him a while to realize he was on the other team, but then he dry fired at him. Cleric apparrantley had some luck going for him. A couple short warm up games there, then we moved on to Mile High. That was fun, I got in a building eventually, and did some damage. The second game I helped defend and we did pretty well. After lunch we went to Silverado, and I swapped GBs in the P90 to the CQB because the DSG hadn't been feeding well all day. That turned out to be a wise decision. There was a lot of great action in Silverado, and the weather had cleared up by then. At the end of the day we did some small games in the junkyard, then headed out. All in all another great day of airsoft.

As I am sure everyone will say the only bad thing was the weather. The first two games were great, the weather put aside and as Dom said people seemed like they could decide when they could take their eye pro off. I was running my Masada in the games before lunch but it seemed like the weather was taking a toll on my battery so I switched to using only my MP9 after lunch.

The games after lunch were great for me. I mean, who doesn't like Silverado City. But even with the weather my gas consumption was surprisingly very good. Bravo handed some to the Alpha players during this these games, which I have to say was quite fun. Now to the Multicam vs. All game. This was an interesting game. At its end I think there were more Multicam than other (correct me if I'm wrong).

All in all the day was good. I got to talk and run with some really cool people and have the chance to show people some of my cool hardware.

After attending this game I think most people need to stop coming to games and play more backyard until they know what a hit is.

Did you walk over and talk to them or talk to an admin about it?

Something to consider that I realized at the airfarm game a few weeks ago. When it's cold, people bundle up, a lot. I witnessed first hand people not calling hits on a 0ft MED gun. Even when the shooter was 20ft away, popping the target in the sides. He had no idea he was getting shot, and I know that the target is one of the most honorable people on the field.

Also, even though I had not planned to make it to the game, I would not have shown up if I did plan on making it. I am sick as a dog, and was running a fever yesterday. Glad to hear you guys enjoyed playing in the snow.

Yep, when it's cold I use more rounds and aim for softer areas. If it's loud and someone is wearing multiple layers, they may not be able to tell they were hit. I had to speak with two people about it at this game.

The biggest problem at the game was lack of understanding of the rules, or just being dumb.

When you are hit you stop where you are hit..put on your kill rag. Sit or lie down if you have to, don't walk back to your respawn immediately, and don't walk behind cover to get revived. I saw a lot of people talking, pointing, or making gestures to other players to give the guys who shot them away.

All in all it was your regular redfax game where alpha newbs got steamrolled in paintsoft battles.

P.S. whoever shot up my sonic drank that was sitting on top of my car in the parking lot. Get screwed.
