Re: Coms
Not to be a pain again, but does anybody have a link to some sort of guide explaining what the different modes are on these radios? So far all I know about radios is about the cheap WalMart ones and I've had no luck trying to Google it. (not sure if you explain this in your video Mojo)

Re: Coms
You monitor (can hear transmissions from) two channels, but you only broadcast on one of the two (whichever you've chosen). So, when you PTT, you broadcast on that one single channel. Ergo; you only need the one PTT button.Romba wrote:How? PTT with two different buttons?Dominum wrote:You monitor both channels and broadcast on the one of your choosing.

Re: Coms
If at all possible order from a US-based retailer like www.wouxun.us, www.powerwerx.com, or similar so if you need warranty service you don't have to ship to China and back.

Re: Coms
I currently own 2 of the Puxing PX-2R's and really like em. Have ran these coms at fulda and on every field in SC without a flaw, and have been able to reach clear across each field with no static. One of the features I like most is being able to set up team channels that do not use the frequencies that interfere with the standard 1 through 40 channel coms. Used em at Fulda last year with over 1000 players and not once did we get a peep of interference from a player outside our group. For the sports nut it has a FM tranceiever so you can keep up with the scores during football season. Adjustable power settings for larger and smaller fields.
A decent radio is the one thing I skimped on for a long time, but glad I finally caved in on.

And now for a twist...
What about lefties? I have exhausted my short attempts at setting up a right-side boom mic on a Z-tactical Comtac headset. The after market boom mic that can be attached to the battery storage (aka it can be attached on the right side of the headset) doesn't have a long enough cord to reach around the back of my head and plug in on the opposite ear cup. Needless to say, splicing wire together with that cheap Asian wire has not been a success.... Anyone know of any options that don't include dropping 500 on a real comtac set?

This is the closest I've found. The boom mic can be switched to either side.... buuut it's an in ear headset... which is weird. and pointless...

p.s. yes it's got to be a comtac set. gotta go super duper spec ops PJ helmet + comtac look.
p.p.s. thanks for the heads up on that midlands mic on amazon nugget. I'm liking it. looks like a better alternative to putting the radio itself on my shoulder like I've been doing lol.

only two. but those two wires have about 6 or so .00001 mm thick copper wires in them. would prob help if i had a soldering iron, but those wires break if you breath on em wrong.
