I am a bit of a jerk.
There have been a lot of games since the last fatality. Roses are red, violets are blue, so is your car at 102

Finally got around to rebuilding one of my Thompsons. 27 RPS @ 415 FPS w/.25g. I really hope that spring settles down below 400 before Saturday, it's meant to be a pseudo DMR w/full auto and 50' MED, and I really don't want to open it up again. Bad news is the MOSFET won't let me leave it compressed, good news is it was a brand new spring and may settle that much by then. If not, I'll remove the teflon on the hopup bucking and see if that lets out enough air to lower it a bit, it was pretty loose without it. Worst case I'll have to open it up and shave the spring a bit or something along those lines. The tree 200' away said it was a tack driver.

What mosfet are you using in your Thompson that you can't leave the spring compressed?

Just read a really awesome, super detailed flat hop guide with really good pictures and everyhing, and I thought, I wanna try this, I should see if this is how Star does it. And lo and behold when I continued to scroll down there was a pansy at the bottom of the post. Star why haven't you posted that guide here? It's fantastic!

Honestly I don't remember what it is, it's a small production run (homemadeish) design I picked up to try out months ago. It's not a brand name one. Whatever it is, it won't let me do a partial cycle.

itty bitty battery and light trigger taps? I dont' really see you losing 20fps in just a few hours leaving a spring uncompressed :/

I opened it up, but since then it had come down to 405 FPS on my chrono. I opted to simply redo the hopup as flat hop and NOT do any compression mods in the chamber. My hope was that this would bring it under 400. However, it still ended up chronoing above 400 by a little, so instead of playing with 100' MED and semi only I used the Thompson I got from Gerbilizer (0'MED) all day. I used .28gs with it, and it went very well. Future plans involve actually making the 400+ FPS Thompson drop below it, and possibly making a stockless CBQR Thompson I can strap on my thigh. The battery fitting would be an issue.

I've never met a Nederlander dumb enough to do that in plain view of two bicyclists. I also doubt he dragged it from a vehicle out of frame.

Lexington, SC manufactures the largest tire in the world (63"), for earth movers, at the massive Michelin facility (currently undergoing an expansion). Anderson, SC is about to get a boost to their local economy though, because they'll be making the second largest tire in the world (57") in about three years when Michelin's new facility there is completed.
