Sounds very cool, the starting weapons might need a little tweaking, such as if you have a side arm or a small PWD ( I dunno about that option might want to leave that at the cornucopia) limit it to one mag only, and no high-caps. That might make it more fair, also you might want to consider having everybody draw cards at random to see who gets what in the beginning to be a little more true to the story, as not everybody started out with a weapon in the books. And have some cards with nothing on them so those poor souls have to try and make it to their stuff with out anything.
These are just my .02 cents and since it is late at night I am done rambling now.

Err...I wouldn't want to leave any of my stuff at the cornucopia. I mean, assuming we are just supposed to sit our rifle down there and wait to get it.

Re: HUNGER GAMES STYLE- SQA-MAY 25TH
Afraid someone is gonna take it? I could see that being a plausible concern. I personally would not have any problem leaving my guns with other peoples guns. There would be so many people and mods waking about that it would be nigh impossible to get away with somebodies else's gun. Plus it would be a very poor decision of someone to try and take my rifle.

Maybe you put a sticky note or something to identify it is your gun, and have one admin who stands and watches and makes sure no one messes around with other people's stuff.

Or just a sticky note at the cornucopia allowing you to go and get your gun from the parking lot...Romba wrote:Maybe you put a sticky note or something to identify it is your gun, and have one admin who stands and watches and makes sure no one messes around with other people's stuff.

Re: HUNGER GAMES STYLE- SQA-MAY 25TH
That would defeat the whole purpose. Plus not to mention being an even greater risk of your gun going missing leaving it in the parking lot. Unless you locked your car.
Leaving the field to go get your weapon would be kinda pointless. Congratulations you reached the cornucopia without dying. Here is your free pass to leave the field, grab your gun and come back. Where would you reenter play?
However specters idea would stop people from camping the cornucopia.

But that's half the fun!!! Don't you see. That's the point of fighting to get to the cornucopia, fighting off campers.
I'm not going to camp, but some of the younger and less experienced players might.

"Camping" is the most MilSim form of airsoft there is.

agreed. we hate it cause of video games, but like the sniper from full metal jacket, camping is a real tactic. IRL when you cant dig them out its not called camping its called "holding an advantageous position."Dominum wrote:"Camping" is the most MilSim form of airsoft there is.

Re: HUNGER GAMES STYLE- SQA-MAY 25TH
I have no problem with people who tactically defend a strategic position lol. I just mentioned that cause I always hear people whining moaning and complaining during games about how the other team is "camping".
I will just say one thing, last game I was at, PBC, bravo pushed alpha back into their spawn and they all but gave up for 20-30 min. That is something I would not like to see happen at this game. It just slows the game down and is frustrating.

And when I asked Bravo to back off to give alpha a chance, they kindly did. Alpha just quit.2nd Ranger wrote: I will just say one thing, last game I was at, PBC, bravo pushed alpha back into their spawn and they all but gave up for 20-30 min. Well I did not want it to be one sided. So why not back off and reset. Alpha did a good job after that. If mow alpha would talk to each other, then it would be better.
On topic: this has been played in other locations, with out any issues. But it works best when you gear is tagged. It is not good for someone to grab the wrong gun, without knowing, and possible break it during a mad dash for protection.

Here's an idea, every man for himself. alliances are allowed, but not required. More hunger-gamesy in my opinion.jsts ghost wrote:Well I did not want it to be one sided. So why not back off and reset. Alpha did a good job after that. If mow alpha would talk to each other, then it would be better.
