Was not able to stay after lunch for family reasons. Unfortunate, but it happens.

Here's what I was doing in the morning:

I was put in charge of Red Platoon during the first part of the game, and our overall objective was to hold the northern side of the field. My small force was a mix of new players and two small fire teams with some experience. We took the field and started spreading out in the northern woods. ....that was my biggest mistake: we spread too thin.

I was able to hold together small groups of alpha in small firefights on the roads and trails and win small battles, including some very nice ambushes (hardest lesson for players to learn: when NOT to shoot and give yourself away) and two tank kills on the Black Mamba. Smitty's ambush weapon of choice: Sawed-off M79.

However, GA forces were able to outrange and hit us from multiple directions on at least two complete routs on the northern field which led to the eventual loss of our FOB, stronghold #1. Once we were driven back to Alpha HQ, we were trapped on all sides: North, South, and East (with pressure coming up the creek). Moral broke, and I found myself standing in front of the base:
In full view of enemy forces (no cover whatsoever),
loudly counting down my bleed-out (just so they would have no reason to complain),
yanking off my dead rag, shooting maybe 3 players each time before being swarmed again and again.
Is it fun to get shot that much that fast? Not really.
Did I really have significant friendly support? nope.
Did it piss of some GA players? You betcha
Is that airsoft? Hells yeah

Never give up!

To the rest of Romeo, you have my complements for staying cohesive even though we weren't a real "team" before the game. Some of those newer players showed more sense than players who have been in the game for years.

*Edit: Sorry for calling the Black Mamba an SUV...I guess it was roughly SUV-shaped?*

Thanks for letting me borrow the russian helmet I bought my self one on ebay today, similar only polish and it's back. If I end up going to sovereign fury I'll see you there.

Besides having my head bloody as crap at the beginning after mowing down georgia it was fun.
The tank left about 6 and didn't come back because of the rain but we still won somehow.
The banana fight at lunch and shooting donuts out of specter's at was pretty fun too. It was the most fun I have had at an airsoft game in a while.
Also rpk I have 2 of your m4 mags and I think you have 2 of my ak mags so we'll have to do a swap next game.

So, this was a pretty good game and well worth the hectic drive there. We ended up blowing a tire on the tank's trailer an hour into the drive and had to pull over to the side of the road. It took 3 hours, but we finally got a new tire from the local Sam's club and got a Pilot Truckstop to mount the tire to the wheel. Finally we arrived at the field at around 12:30 Friday night and had a wonderful 5 hours of on and off sleep before waking and getting set up.

It felt real good "unveiling" The Black Mamba for the second time and the awes we got from it. The best part of the game was definitely the beginning game on Saturday in my opinion. As it was our first time on the field, it was a little odd getting our bearings right for the new map, but a few wrong turns later and we had it down. The massive tank rush at the beginning of the round was quite fun until we were alerted that there was a crumpled pie tin under us. Then we acted as a great piece of cover for Fallout's tank, until he hit another pie tin right infront of us. However, the infantry manged to use the burning hulks as cover and took the base, presenting us with a spawn point right infront of us. The game consisted of many hidden AT's and shooting bunkers and the such. There was one incident where we snuck up on the SC technical and gave them a nasty surprise. When trying to turn around, we hit one poor guy riding in it with the main gun. After lighting them all up with the whole squad of course, for good measure. Also has a fun time chasing the SC tank around at the beginning of the second round. It was quite the chase and that tank is very lucky the ball valve got stuck on the winning shot and we we're able to get it out. Unfortunately for us, we got a little overzealous and ran right into an ambush by an AT that was on the trail we were chasing the tank down on.

We enjoyed using the thermal cameras (courtesy of ISG Infrasys and Fireco) and the night game was pretty successful from what I heard from the squad mates.

We got in late for the Sunday game, and due some mis-communication we thought the tank was still a go. (Told in the early morning it would be used, but that changed as the SC tank didn't return) We only played for about 30 minutes before the game was called, came back to camp and packed up for the drive home.

All in all, the game was a very good op. There was some slight mis-communication on some things regarding the tank dynamics, but none posed as a big deal and they were cleared up quickly. At one point, SC was allowed to throw Nerf rockets and still thought they could after they received a launcher and it was changed back. There was an issue to whether or not the main gun of the tanks could blow bunkers at the end of the day, never got a real definite answer on that one. Although I do know we popped bunkers for the first game with no argument, the second game we were told it didn't count as a kill for those inside. Lastly, there was the thought that we'd play in the morning game with the tank, then we were told by SC it was a transport, and finally by admin it was a no go altogether, so we just abandoned it and went on foot for the short time the game continued. However, I applaud the admins for doing a very good job with the set up of the game. Everything went rather smoothly and the it was a very fun game. I am very impressed with the SC players for their hit calling and we had no incident at all with that. I don't know if my fellow Georgians were as respectful, but I hear that they were good aswell, so I am equally impressed. It's hard to find good sportsman ship like I saw at this game. There wasn't any real screaming matches between players and hostility despite the state rivalry. The admins gave it a very laid back appeal and the game was left to run its course without interference. I don't know what caused the blind man call, but everyone acted well on that, even though we were a little delayed in the tank as were couldn't make out what was being said over the engine. People kept distance from the tank and we had no issues with anyone getting in the way or acting dangerously.

It was a very fun and well organized event and we hope you guys all enjoyed it as much as we did.

Calling us an SUV?! That's insulting to her! It's a 1979 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We call her The Black Mamba very passionately and have a very deep connection to her.

Really though, you did an epic job with the ambushes. Don't know how you manged to always be where we were. I loved the one time your pistol decided to not launch and you threw the Nerf instead. I give you an A for effort on that one!

You obviously weren't at the SC base most of the Saturday game. There were at lest two instances that ended up in prolonged screaming matches. About what? I have no idea, we stayed out of it but there was a good bit of screaming. I even had another SC player mention something about this as well. They said at another base there were both SC and GA players with deadrags on screaming at each other so yeah. Not so much a bad thing, I think everyone was just frustrated but like I said, I paid to play a game, not yell at people.

Had a great time gunning for Specter in the tank, using my RPK. When the game first started, we drove up to the main field. and saw all of Georgia standing in the field. We then proceeded to attack them, making several passes. I must've gotten at least 30 kills in 1 minute, and there is no telling how many atl got from the top. Had fun driving circles around Black Poison's tank and supporting infantry, until Fallout's tank arrived and we had to make a hasty retreat. Went back down to the field, I reloaded the RPK, and we made another pass. Unfortunately, atl busted his head open when we hit a bump going a little too fast. Thankfully, it looked worse than it actually was, and atl was back in the tank gunning for us in no time. Had a great time chasing Fallout's tank down trails, only to have Black Poison's tank chasing us! Kudos to all the Georgia players who were not afraid to stand up and shoot at our tank, as enough heavy fire would cause us to drive away. Big props to Fallout for giving us some tips and allowing me and Marpat96 to get some food. I saw very few issues with hit calling and cheating, and I think this game has erased the poor relations from last year's game. Congrats to everyone for a great game, and a big thanks to specter for his amazing driving. If you ever need a passenger gunner, you can count on me and my RPK.

We were at HQ both times. I wouldn't call that too much hostility myself. More like confusion turning into frustration from what I was seeing. GA was told to go to SC HQ and get a briefcase, later it turned out we couldn't and we didn't know that. So obviously we were quite confused about what was going on, and obviously SC is wondering what is happening to the HQ. Neither of us really knew how to handle the situation it seemed and it seemed that the "screaming match" was more a result of the circumstance rather than the players. Likewise, it didn't result in a permanent and bitter aftershock when it was all over and no hard feelings that I could see remained after that. So, I'd say it wasn't a huge incident where players really acted out of line. It was more of a "What the heck is going on?" scenario and alot of annoyance from both teams about the predicament we ended up in.

I don't know what caused the second one honestly though. I just know we pulled up to a massive pile and got killed by something. Don't remember what, but it wasn't as bad as the first (may have missed the first parts of it though) and it also didn't have much of a repercussion from what we saw.

You are right though, it did have some yelling and all, but nothing that really lasted and everyone seemed to let it go really quick from what I saw back at camp and on the field. It was nothing compared to most airsoft games we've been too. Plus, minus those two instances, the game was very smooth on Saturday, and both only lasted only about 10 minutes since it was over before our respawn timer was up on both occasions.

Regardless though, I'm just talking from our experience. We were rather isolated in comparison to ground troops, but everything we saw didn't seem to be that bad at all.

To be fair, communication has never been strong in the games I've played. I don't know whether it's at the top or at the bottom, but the rules are never laid out in stone, and they seem to change based on how the people running the game think the game is going.

I never heard/saw a screaming match, myself. I know that there was admin intervention at the SC HQ to clarify that GA wasn't supposed to be holding it (and that's when they ended up calling lunch anyway), but the rest of the day seemed to be sunshine and sparkles... well, as much sunshine and sparkles as it could be with infantry going up against mechanized without AT.

I had a great time at the game this weekend. I've never had so much fun at a night game. My brother had a good time in the tank, RPK95.

The day games were just pretty much shoot and hide, but the night game was excellent as far as visibility, sportsmanship, and fun went. I used my brand new Well VSR 10 Cone G-Spec the entire game, and also picked up some new toys as well. I want to thank the gentleman from GA who I shot at the night game from a good 30 yards in the field with my G-Spec, and the man loudly called out "hit". I called myself out, and went over to the man and shook his hand and thanked him for calling the hit. A single shot at night when no shot can be heard and it is very easy to not call a hit, this man called it. I got several other kills the rest of the night, and Sunday just bullshitting around with it again.
