KWA M16 outerbarrel removal.

Post by SpyderTC » Thu Dec 10, 2009 1:12 pm

so I have not been into airsoft for very long and never tried to mod my gun any. However, all of this changes next week when my large shipment of external/internal mods get here. I need to knw how to swap out the outerbarrel as well as the inner barrel. Also I will be installing a RIS and a new motor grip. Any knowledge about any of these operations would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

This sort of thing cannot be explained by just writing it, you're going to have to watch a vid or have someone demonstrate it to be done properly. Ask Garrett to show you.

What R.I.S system is it? Unless it is a free-floating R.I.S hanguard, you shouldn't have to remove the entire barrel assembly..

Please explain more. I may be able to help.

the RIS is a MADBULL DRAGONFIRE 12'. The reason im taking the barrel off isnt for the RIS...I have a 16" outerbarrel that im putting in so i can put the MADBULL gemtech silencer over the rest of the inner barrel. and the only problem with getting garret to show me is that he lives in Newberry and im in Spartanburg. also im trying to have this installed in time for Blue Hole

I can help out, but the only problem is that I am going to be down in the range for earlier part of the day on Saturday, and then I am going on a date for my birthday with my fiance.

I am free on Sunday though, if you want to travel to Simpsonville.
Please PM for more details.

Here is a quick video showing how to disassemble a JG M4a1. Yes, I know what you are about to say...But I have a KWA M16!!! Don't worry, you can follow the basic steps involved in taking down your KWA M16 by watching how this M4 is disassembled. The only difference will be that if your M16 has a full stock it will obviously be wired to the back instead of the front. One quick tip about separating the body...Make sure that you fire your KWA in Semi-Auto at least once to make sure that your piston is all the way forward or it will be very very hard to remove the upper receiver and you can possibly damage the piston.

thanks grim....and yea I would definatly not be happy to mess up my piston so sounds like clearing it would be a great idea...
