Word of advice, don't underestimate the performance of your stock barrel. Just take it out, run some brass polish through it (I use simichrome polish), and then use some regular gun cleaning patches about 5 or 6 times. You'll be amazed at how much dirt comes out! Plus, they seem to be more accurate than a tight bore barrel, but with a little less range and fps. I think there was a reason TM used 6.08 inner barrels I'm their guns...
Also, for anyone who wants a cheap DMR, try out a JG m16. Just replace the piston, correct the AoE with some sorbo, add a MOSFET, and then drop in am m170 spring! Using a high power lipo, you'll have a cheap and reliable DMR. Then polish the barrel and add an ER hop, and you're done.

There's a reason there's so much "dirt" coming out. It's not dirt.
A tighter barrel does not mean an accuracy increase. A more consistent and smoother bore does. A high quality 6.08mm barrel, that has been manufactured to better specs and has a more uniform interior surface (like an OEM TM barrel) is going to be better for accuracy than a cheap TBB with an inconsistent bore, or poorly polished interior. Granted, the tighter bore will mean a slight FPS boost, but FPS =/= accuracy. Brass cleaner is "polishing" by stripping the oxidized surface. That's what that "dirt" is. Every time you do that, you make the surface more rough, actually, and you increase the bore size. This happens on a very small scale, so to the naked eye its new shine simply appears to be more smooth, because it is more reflective. For a DMR or SWS, most techs agree that the middle road is best. A 6.03mm TBB that is quality, made to high specs and consistent tolerances. Some people would rather go for a tiny bit more FPS, but less accuracy with something like a 6.01mm. As a general rule, the wider the bore (all things being equal), the more stable the flightpath. However, since most manufacturers do not put a lot of effort into making their OEM barrels, most TBBs will increase accuracy due to the fact that most of them have better tolerances and consistency than most OEM barrels. A notable exception has always been TM.

What Dom said.
If you are wanting to polish your bore. Look up HS5's barrel lapping kit. Instead of spinning to polish the barrel, it is a simple kit designed to polish a barrel in one direction. This way you have all the mistakes facing consistently in one direction, and as Dom said, more consistency, makes for higher accuracy. Something to think about.

Because I have people ask me about it, and I tell them to go look on here, and this makes it easier to find. I know most people are too retarded to understand what goes into a bolt action, but this helps newbs somewhat understand to the point that they can get out and have some fun and be effective rather than sticking a scope on an L96 and running it with .25g bbs from Walmart. There is a lot of useful info here, and even a little about AEG Sniper Rifles. I like to help people, especially when it comes to stuff like this. I can even help you with your new M28

Then why not ask for a sticky and leave it. We dont have to bump the FS thread every time someone does a wrong template.
