A 300 dollar gun with the right amount of work can easily outdo a much more expensive one.

not to be an ass Capn, but This is not an build off for the budget minded.

Also that car analogy was so bad... you can get an CAI for less than $200 but exhaust? Hahaha forget about it. [...] Now if you were talking about full exhaust (headers, midpipe, catback all QUALITY part) then yes you do get an increase in power. [...]you cannot even get quality headers (the part that adds the most HP/TQ) for less than $200. Then not to mention that those CAI and exhaust would not even come close to the power a proper dynotune (which is what I guess you meant by reprogram ECU) can make. You literally disproved your own argument with that analogy... There is a saying in the car world "It takes cash to go fast" that same saying applies to airsoft with a little tweaking.

the analogy was meant that if you take your time and do manual work it will be better than that guy who just bought out the local advance's supply of APC and bolted it on.... didnt say that you could get parts for >$200 at ALL, why would you think that?? i think my post was quite clear.....

and when i say bolt on exhause i am talking from headers to tailpipe.

i am at $210 including the gun, but if i change my mind on what im doing with it ill be at around $125 ....

still need a tbb and to er hop it tho. the barrel and unit are gonna be where a lot of my money goes....

Just got my 90* piston in. The bolt return is quite lovely now. Having gravity do all the work really explains why zero triggers are so magical.

Currently, I'm at 407fps with .40s, (we're shooting for 443fps with .40s, that's the equivalent of 560fps with .25s), and looks like only 260ft of range. So, time to get back to the hop up. Still waiting on the new hop up unit to come in. Then I'll be able to really boost that range up there. VSR hop ups are so limiting.

lol, that is true, the svd's hop up is probably the worst one in any bolt action. It's so small, it's just about useless for any hop up upgrades.

Don't expect anything rare, just unusual. All I'm saying is its a gas bolty, and I've got about $200 worth of parts I need to finish the build
