when token and i last worked on the SVD it was going thru milk jugs full of water at about 100ft. it looked really cool and water is supposed to slow projectiles a lot. or am i wrong here? seriously asking.

Water is a lubricant, stuff speeds up as it goes through it.

Realistically, the water didn't slow the bb down enough, and they use just as much plastic as they need to hold the milk in place, it's not thick by any means. Milk jugs are basically water balloons just strong enough to hold their shape.

considering the velocity of an average 9mm round seems to be 1180fps, (http://www.ballistics101.com/9mm.php) and i was shooting i wanna say a little less than half that but the round is smaller 2/3rd the size so 2/3rd the surface area to resist, but muuuch less weight to carry momentum..

agh the maths. slower rounds did better due to nondisintegration, but those were all metal and ive seen bbs break on goggles before....

i just know that my AK shoot a hair under 400 and it didnt touch the back plastic of the jug. but the SVD went thru both sides and made Token jump like LeBron at about 120 ft....
