I had a great time, it was my first game in 6 weeks (I had missed two games in a row for the first time in... maybe forever) so I showed up desperate for an airsoft fix. I was surprised at such a great turnout for a summer game, nearly 90 people showed up. The new field is better in that it is not flooded, I am looking forward to the additional buildings. I had a great time during the day, Alpha spanked until the silver case mission towards the end of the day portion. I chilled in the town most of the zombie game, and then took advantage of the tons of smoke being popped all over town during the first zombie horde invasion of the town, right after the "town meeting", to crawl under a tarp near a wood pile and chill. I laid there for over an hour until the end of the game, and was one of the three official survivors (I say official because there were three other survivors, but they had left the village while not on a mission, which disqualified them unfortunately). I tossed a thunderb into the horde right as the game was called.

Oh, and people shouldn't be surprised AT ALL about all the bleeding and painful shots at night, players were using up to 360 FPS w/.25g guns with no MED, and zombies had to, as a matter of course, get very close. Ergo, lots and lots of very painful and often bloody shots. Also, it was nighttime and most younger players are bad enough at aiming as it is, don't get mad when someone reflex shoots with very poor visibility, is under duress (surprise) and happens to hit you in the face/head/neck even though they are not supposed to. It can't be helped. I think the next one should utilize the proven safe under 300 FPS limit. In fact this is part of the reason I was so determined not to become a zombie. Well, that and the fact that I don't find brains particularly palatable.

We weren't told that we couldn't leave the village. We were told "The horde is coming," and leaving was the logical thing to do, because all of the good hiding spots were taken and the zombies were now invincible

At the brief it was stated that no "humans" could leave the village unless on a mission ordered by the CO, this was reiterated a few times during the game as well. I initially thought it meant the general vicinity of the village, but it was promptly clarified to mean not past the "hedges" near the buildings. I think the three players that survived outside the village ended up being all the way over at the truck at the end.

the only thing i would really like to see folks address/answer to is why some folks, when told beforehand if infected would have the chance to go lock their guns up(which i thought was pretty courteous, to protect things from weather/theft/oopsies) and then become a shambling horde felt the need to just leave.

this was pretty wack. it made the game kind of boring for those in the village (from what i heard eavesdropping from the woods) and caused the RRH (we were about to propose a truce against the zombies) to have to abandon the game mechanic of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and go be zombies just to ensure folks had a good time.

I personally stapped up with 3 aegs and 3 pistols (one mag, HA!) preparing just for this eventuality. I had this vision of being back to back with a few people, fighting desperately for the right not to have to eat brains, while Achilles ran screaming into the night. kinda bummed i didnt ever get to fight against the undead...

i mean my arm got tore up, but no one told me to wear short sleeves. i had to remind someone with a barrel in my nose that people get angry when faceblasted close, but they pointed the barrel at my knee and took me out. we couldnt find the last three in the village but no one told anyone not to hide under stuff, and we were told to be evolved zombies with higher intelligence that didnt die, so i feel that wasnt an issue either....oh and dom that thunder b was about 15 secs AFTER game was called lol!

and was there rly a zombie sitting IN the wheelbarrow? at one point gerbilizer and I positioned ourselves right next to it and played dead, to great effect (got to hear Achilles' little girl scream)

also i thank you guys for not shooting me when i had to climb out of the truck after i figured out the door didnt open from the inside, that was cool of you, and i mightve fell, so thanks for being classy!

Unfortunately, I was one of the three "unofficial" survivors at the end, along with Marpat96 and Achilles1. Yes, we were planning to have an epic last stand, but oh well. This is probably one of my favorite fields now, due to the heavy emphasis (in my opinion) on teamwork to move up and the close quarter action. My TM P90 (thank you, Dom) got me a lot of kills, despite the mags not cooperating. Overall, the day game was great, despite the basketball sized spiders.

Now the zombie game..........
I personally wish that we were given a little more freedom as survivors, and I wished that all the people who were turned had stayed instead of leaving. The majority of the night involved my team and I sitting around the village pissing off everyone else with our lights, but when we eventually went out, most of us died. Getting to the objective only to see tons of zombies sitting in it certainly had us freaked out. We proceeded to move in a circle around the base, with me and Achilles near the front. If you were in the back of the line, you had a very high chance of being turned, as most of my teammates ended up getting turned. Marpat96 ran off, while me, Achilles, and a third player went around again. The third player was killed, while me and Achilles abandoned the mission. We ran back, only to run into Marpat96. The rest is history, as we flanked around to the other side of the map while zombies stormed the village.
We, unfortunately, took ourselves out of the game by doing this. Dom and two others managed to survive the onslaught, though. (I don't care what anyone says, I survived. ) Over 90 people showed up, and at the end of the night, only 6 remained. Good job, Cleric.

For some reason this didn't post 2 days ago like I thought it did.......
I am the brother of Marpat96...we look just alike.
