Re: Dual sector gear setup
nah, I agree it's impractical, I never said it was practical. I just said it could be built reliably. The amount of ammo you go through is just stupid, and trying to simply get a mag to feed that fast is another challenge in and of itself. But yeah, just use the back button, skywalker, it should still be saved in your web browser's memory.

Ew that thread is so old its from my old login...
You may want to skip the first page or two. But that has alot of my thoughts along the way of the build

Re: Dual sector gear setup
Ok I might just try that 13:1 idea, what about a helical setup?

Re: Dual sector gear setup
Nope, don't use helicals. The system wastes energy that could be used actually moving the system. Besides, I don't know of any speed ratio helical gears. Flat gears are more efficient and plenty strong enough.

Helical is good for slower, churning, high torque applications

Re: Dual sector gear setup
I disagree. Helicals are only good if you want to waste energy and a slower rate of fire due to the torque that usually comes with the name. But that's a different topic... I'll leave it at that.

Re: Dual sector gear setup
OK just curious, so if I wanted to use the 13:1 type is their motor better than say a g&p or a systema turbo (with a better pinion of course)?

Re: Dual sector gear setup
Yes. Systema makes some of the worse motors on the market right now, G&Ps are good, but over priced. SHS makes some of the strongest, cheapest motors. They're pinion gears are much tougher than both the G&P and Systema's pinions.
