Re: Need some questions answered before i buy a VFC Scar H.
In all 3 VFC guns I've owned, I've never been able to run one stock for more than 5,000-10,000 rounds before the metal on the tooth caves in, AND the teeth strip. This was 2 VFC m4s, and a VFC Scar ASR, all running a 20c 7.4 2,200mah battery. I have ran a JG and Dboys on an 11.1 for longer than that. My G&P m4 is now at over 20,000 rounds stock on an 11.1v 25c 1500mah battery

To be fair, if the first thing happens, the second always follows as a matter of course.Stomper87 wrote:the metal on the tooth caves in, AND the teeth strip
I'm not saying they're fantastic pistons, and I know that that tooth does break, and of course I don't dispute the results you've had. I'm just saying that I've seen enough last a long time that I don't consider it that bad of a piston. Maybe the ones I've owned and seen have just had better luck. It is airsoft after all, so it's more than half luck. I would rather set the AOE of a VFC and see how much I can get out of the stock one, because I have known at least half a dozen stock VFCs to last a very long time without any problems whatsoever. That being said, I can certainly understand your dislike of their pistons seeing where you're coming from. What model years where they, BTW? I ask because the ones I am referring to are not recent models, so it is possible that they made a change if yours are.

The m4s were the E series (I think). Got them in 2011 and 2012. The Scar was the older one without the trademarks, although I'm pretty sure that's the only change they've made to them sense.Dominum wrote:To be fair, if the first thing happens, the second always follows as a matter of course.Stomper87 wrote:the metal on the tooth caves in, AND the teeth strip
