I don't know how far you guys got n the phone, but installing a MOSFET should in order if the OP is going to running a lipo. Also, again, not knowing, shimming, AOE, and decent greasing should be done as well. I would grab some 20 and 30 wt shock oil at your RC store.

Call me crazy but it would appear that this Walmart AEG already has a MOSFET. I see three wires coming out of the gearbox.

There's no kill switch on awesome!

It does already have a MOSFET. We got very far on the phone, fixed everything up nice and gave him some pointers for both general AEG awesomeness and some tips specific to this AEG as to how to prevent similar issues and get some improvement for minimum expenditure.

Re: Black Ops M4 Cobra Locked Up - HELP!!
I'm having similar issues with mine M4 Cobra, but I can't seem to remove the gearbox. I've removed all body pins, the mag release and disconnected the motor. Seems like the bolt release has some sort of catch that prevents the gearbox from being lifted out. Help please?

Have you taken the screws out of the pistol grip where you pulled the motor out? Have you taken the screw out of the stock that screws into the back of the gearbox?

Re: Black Ops M4 Cobra Locked Up - HELP!!
Nevermind, I punched the pin holding the bolt release out with a precision screwdriver and reassembled the gearbox. It locked up again much like OPs did so I removed the blowback feature this time (2 pcs) and it fires fine. Not sure if it was because I didn't torque the screws in correctly the first time but I know the M4 cobra inside and out now. Message me if you have any issues with yours.
