AOSC GDT (General Discussion Thread)
Re: AOSC GDT (General Discussion Thread)
I'm curious to see what you can pull off with .88g BBs and a R-hop.

Re: AOSC GDT (General Discussion Thread)
lol, the longest claim I've seen so far is 450ft in a 720fps rifle using .66 ceramic rounds. But I won't be using the R-hop, at least, not the original version of the R-hop. The best I can say is that it is different from what has been seen so far.

720 with .66s, or 720 at the standard (i.e. .20 or .25)

720 at the standard .2..... wow, I'm not even sure 720fps with a .66 would be possible with gas guns.... hmmm, 720fps with a .66 is 15J by my calculations, which is about 1300fps.... so yeah, guns... lol

Really? cause, I was thinking the same thing, except my back and not yours. I'd be interested in seeing how they compare to plastic bbs.Felix wrote:Guns. me too actually. I have a feeling this might bring back the days of ol where you would shoot red riders at each other.

Re: AOSC GDT (General Discussion Thread)
eeeehhhh, I don't want to go that far. Power isn't want I'm looking for here, it's the weight. If there were good super heavy weight plastic bbs, I'd be using those, but there aren't .43s are junk, so the best we have are .4s, and those aren't the best either. Steel rounds, or .88s are very consistent and heavy, and would be great for super accurate shots given you have a good enough hop up to actually launch them. Our FPS limits allow for a high enough fps to be able to use them, just the fact that they are metal is what is the problem.

Re: AOSC GDT (General Discussion Thread)
Well, if we actually test how they shoot, maybe we could amend. Shoot me and a peice of cardboard at 300-400feet, and use the carboard until it looks unsafe, then add 50 feet and make that the new MED

Re: AOSC GDT (General Discussion Thread)
hmmm, that's an idea. We may do this once I get the gun finished and running. Hmmm, I think we should make this into some sort of research project, research is done, now for building the testing platform, then testing and collecting data, lastly just compile it and present our findings to the world. Who knows, maybe we'll actually be able to put up a good fight for metal bbs, or give good evidence as to why they shouldn't be used. I'm just interested to see what they can do to different things; goggles, mesh, point blank, 100ft+ away, bear skin, bdu covered skin, etc. Anything else you think we should test?

No metal bb's will never be allowed.
You name a game, I've been to it.
If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.
If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

I'm not sure what exactly was unclear about "insurance companies don't allow it". Feel free to test all you want (I'm quite interested in the potential myself, since there may someday be heavier plastic BBs), but Felix... this will never be allowed ingame.
