Carolina Border War - May 1, 2010

Post by adjunog » Sat May 01, 2010 9:27 pm

This was great but not so great when I found out I'm missing a VFC Tan-SCAR Heavy (7.62) style Hi-cap.

Please PM me.  I don't think anyone else had one like mine

Good game overall... I saw a huge amount of rules broken, though. Besides the normal hit-calling issues, dead-man was called twice, and was all but ignored both times.

Still a fun day, though, I had a great time in the night game.

Great game, Robin did and amazing job as always as well as Panzer and Gun, the generals.
NC won in the end, but it still was a great day. Hope to upload the pics tommorow when I'm not about to pass out.
Was wearing the ghillie all day so that was a blast.  :D

Man that was a great game.  the morning game was a lot of fun, the afternoon game, not so much.  I gotta get me some of that bb proof body armor some of those NC guys were wearing lol.  It was an issue on both sides like always, but was particularly bad during the attack on bravos base to thoe point where a game official chased one guy down for it he was so blatant about it.  only played half the first night game, between blistered feet and poor night vision.  having fireworks go off 10 ft in front of you made it interesting.  All in all was a lot of fun, and im looking forward to my next game.

Alright,

Final count was 164 players. Sixty from NC. Marvelous showing from our battle brothers up north. A few even drove from Wilmington & Fayettenam. Right on!

I will write a detailed scoring report later today.

Great blend of gun cultures and a very successful event indeed. There were definitely some young players 'learning' the rules (sigh)... and no question that the Blindman rule needs to be hammered home! One hand injury in the night game. Any report on that fellow?

That was a full day too... fast paced, no resting... full on airsoft!

The raffle consisted of:

AEX: A G&P limited edition M4 /9mm custom kit, full metal body and stamped #0000000384.

Raven Recon: A ACU molle vest, a 3-point sling, and a damn nice pistol holder for tactical vests

Big Boy toys: An Echo 1 AK47 (V3), two bags of 5000bbs, two pairs of ECS airsoft full sealed goggles, a set of anit-fog wipes, and two green condor face wraps!

BlackTower: a coyote Tactical vest, three full passes to CDP Vietnam game, one free pass to FUlDA-GAP in Oct.

Hell yeah! Many thanks to our vendors and remember to take a look at their web sites when you need gear.

I salute you all,
~R

Robin, we took the guy, Henry, who busted his hand open to the hospital in Central, SC last night. He spent 5 hours in the hospital and got two stitches. He's doing fine  :)

This was an absolutely amazing game, even though I had a bit of gun problems during the last hour of the morning game and half of the afternoon game.  But that is what pistols are for.

One of the funnest parts for me is at the beginning of the afternoon game when I rounded the corner from bravo base to alpha base and seeing a wall of at least 40 NC  :o.

Oh winning the Fulda Gap tickets was badass.

Ouch.. what happened? This sounds like it was a good time.. but the whole "Blind man" ignorance makes me somewhat glad I didn't get to go.

1. Robin / Blacktower put a lot of time, thought, and effort into making this a good game day.  Thank you.
2. My favorite objectives had to be the severed heads.
3. First operation I was active in where I did not get one hit.  I mean, I got hit a lot and spent half the day with a dead rag on, but my BBs must have just been dropping or curving around everyone I was aiming at for six hours?!?!?!  Guess it happens.
4. First raffle I won a rifle at.  Thanks to Big Boy Toys for the prize and being there to meet my ammunition needs.
5. As usual, thanks to Country for allowing us to use the camp for our sport.
See y'all at the next "border war".

A player tripped in the darkness of the night game and cut his hand on the gravel road. I am glad to hear he only needed 2 stitches. Please let him know I will give him a free pass to the next big BT OP of his choice!

And you were missed! It was indeed a fantastic game day. Both states put on terribly good fights with strong leadership, inner-team communications and a close match from the word "GO!".

Sad to say some beginners get too into the 'cinematic' aspect of being invulnerable and let adrenaline take over. Luckily the incident ended safely, with no injuries, but it's a good reminder to all event hosts to really get serious about Blindman at the morning brief and let players know they will be ejected from events if they break the rules.

I know the parties involved.  :-\

Hope you had a great Saturday & hope to see ya at the main event on June 12th, OP Domino! An event with two armies led by Dominum & Tanker!!!

Team G.O.A.T. had fun.  Saw great players and some not so great, but that every game.  I enjoyed playing a SAW gunner and end up going back to ol' Betty.  love running with guys I normally go against tanker and Dom.  Thanks to Joshua who was my eye and ears out there on the killing field.  to my teammates John G. and Ricky who rolled with me all day thanks you all know why.  JJ and Mike glad you came out to play again it's been way to long.

Robin great job out there as always, Panz we tried our best to take care of you.  and to all the players out there who came for NC and SC thanks for come out.  Good to see some new player as well some old.

Again you all made the game fun for me.
