2GX bucking in Echo 1 ASR?

Post by Havok » Tue Sep 06, 2011 9:34 am

I'm thinking about fitting a 2GX hop up bucking in my ASR for increased accuracy. I would have to modify the bucking slightly... but I think it is possible. Any thoughts?

Whats the hop-up system in the ASR? Is it M4 style?

It's not, but bucking diameter is the same. It'll slid over both inners. I would have to trim it back however if I did.

I wouldn't use the 2GX bucking in my ASR if you're going to have it shooting over 400ish (.25s), especially with the heavier BBs (anything over .3s) it wasn't made to be a sniper bucking.

I'd go with a Prommy hard type: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=4694

or if you want something very similar to the 2GX bucking then, if you can find it, go with the Firefly V shaped hard type: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=5219

And i do have experience with the 2GX in an ASR, if you're wondering. My team mate borrowed an extra 2GX I had, while it does work without modifying it, I still don't recommend it, as it's very easy to tear the bucking for high FPS set ups like snipers.

I agree that it's not a great bucking for anything over 400fps with .25s. However, unlike the other two buckings, I would suggest the PDI W Hold bucking, it can handle high powered set ups very well, and still has the benefit of a two point contact patch.

Both great suggestions that I will look into. Would you mind posting a link for me Star?

That's the bucking, but i'm having a little trouble finding it in stock in other places.

Ive had pretty good results with the firefly hard bucking in my asr shooting 560 fps with a .25..... But i do have the pdi hop up chamber with an aeg cut inner barrel so i didnt have to do any mods to get it to fit just right... I would like to try the new pdi bucking in it as well but ill probally sell the rifle before i do....
